Meta Road to Stardom - Mario Metagame Thread (v1.1.1)
I feel as if top 15 will probably be the range for mario. After this patch he may have a bit better of a chance of retaining his place as is but I suppose we'll see has the years go on and majors happen.- Shady Onion

Solo viable main
At the moment, it seems he will remain where he is. With lots of reps, good frame data, heavy aerial combos, some great grab options, and decent matchup coverage, I feel like he'll remain where he is in the current meta, but Sakurai can be unpredictable...- Shady Onion

Should I consider Mario as a secondary?
Mario is a fantastic secondary honestly. He has a solid build and he has relatively decent matchup coverage. Though in your case you may have troubles with the same characters as Ike such as Diddy and Rosa. Overall, Mario can be a solo main and would make for a great secondary. I completely agree with this. Mario as a solo main is completely doable. It really comes down to your match up knowledge and whatever you're comfortable with.- Shady Onion
