Playing on bad wifi and my play style is based on reaction and spacing.... worst time of my life but no one competitive to play with locally anymore.

usb lan adapter questions (models, chipsets, etc)

After playing almost exclusively local since Sm4sh came out, I'm finally starting to play online in hopes to play against more people at my skill level so I can improve. But of course, wifi is terrible and input delay is abundant. So does anyone know if there's anything in particular I should...

    Why did you pick Shulk?

Sadly never had the pleasure of playing Xenoblade (but I plan to now!). Picked Shulk because I love spacing characters with a strong SH-ground game and can ledge gaurd well, which should be quite apparently by my mains. Also, the monado arts are an amazing concept and so very fun. Adds a lot...

    Poll: Your Favorite Monado Art

+1 speed art. Opens a plethora of string options and gives Shulk an amazing SH ground game. If I was forced to only use one version of Shulk permanently (including vanilla Shulk), I would go with speed, therefore it's the least situational imo.

    Shulk Tutorial: Help Wanted

So much hate on shield art. :p Learning to shield art cancel into jump art after a launch at high percents can help you live to 150%, which means a little more time to rack up some damage since Shulk can space quite well. @OP - definitely express the importance of spacing and Shulk's follow...

(LEGALITY) Custom Special Moves: Maybe. Modifiable Attributes: No.

I think there's at least some chance that you'll be able to save your name+moveset in a controller and simply import it, which should be quick enough for tournaments. Sakurai is trying to design a "party game" and a common aspect of party games is playing at different people's houses. Assuming...

So as a community should we try and voice our concerns?

I'm 100% in favor of attempting to make our voices heard. Smashboards.com is a huge community that very much deserves at least some of Sakurai's attention. I would love to see... Reduced landing lag (from what it currently is, having a good SH game should not be a penalty) Follow up options...

    Dolphin Online - Melee Netplay

I highly doubt this is the problem, but are your firewalls / ports allowing complete access? I've known routers to make complications of stuff like this.

    Dolphin Online - Melee Netplay

i3 380UM and Intel HD [integrated] Graphics and I run Dolphin Melee just fine. Haven't tried netplay yet however, but I would assume that's just going to be internet quality if it works fine offline.

    Dolphin Online - Melee Netplay

Is this still fairly active? I've always wanted to learn competitive Smash play but never had the means (no decent friends to practice with, and my previous computer couldn't handle Dolphin). Is it still worthwhile to go out and buy the adapter / controller necessary for this? Thank you.
