SmashBoards Staff Picks – Who do you still hope will make it into Ultimate?

The release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is only getting closer and closer, and we’re all pretty excited to get our hands on the game and try out all of the newest features and characters. Still, it’s almost a guarantee we haven’t seen everything Ultimate has to offer, and with four months of...

    An E3 Retrospective: Part 3 - Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS (2013-15)

The best press cycle leading up to a Smash release thus far, IMO. Gave the community a lot to be excited about and discuss for years before the game even came out. I think this was the first time Nintendo truly realized the power Smash holds, and what a marketing dream it can be.

An E3 Retrospective: Part 2 - Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2005-2007)

Brawl was the first Smash game I was old enough to follow the hype for. I must've been about 10 years old, already subscribed to Club Nintendo (Mexico's version of Nintendo Power) and just getting into gaming culture and forums. I bought it a week after it released, and it's the first game I can...

The People's Champ vs. The King of Smash | Scar vs. Ken at Kings of Cali 2

Man, that's one hell of a mistake to let slip past the first draft. I fixed it, thank you for letting me know.

The People's Champ vs. The King of Smash | Scar vs. Ken at Kings of Cali 2

The year was 2013, and Super Smash Bros. Melee was going through a renaissance. With a community split after the release of its controversial sequel, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the game’s competitive scene found itself in a tight spot: With no major tournaments on the horizon and a great divide...

New to Sheik, question on which options I have for if the enemy is able to grab the ledge?

If you're in a triplat, I suggest standing on the platform above the ledge. Drop-down fair or nair covers most ledgedash options, and even if you don't hit them as they're getting back on stage you're still in a pretty dominant position. It usually works for me, but I'd be curious about what...

12 Rounds With the Champ: Interview With Noble | Sol!

Jon “Sol” Lackey first broke into the Super Smash Bros. scene early in 2015, making waves with solid performances in his home state of Florida and quickly ascending in popularity to be nearly universally recognized as the best Little Mac player in the game. His innovative techniques and unique...

Multishining on Falco using the y button?

Not a spacies main, so I probably can't offer the best advice, but I do know the multishine timing on Falco is different because his jumpsquat is a little bit slower. Have you tried getting used to his jump out of shine animation yet?

How Much Do You Think The Tier List Would Change If L Canceling Didn't Exist?

Worthy addition: Peach is godlike because float-canceling becomes more valuable than ever.

How Much Do You Think The Tier List Would Change If L Canceling Didn't Exist?

Falco and Falcon would probably go down a couple of spots, because they're both heavily reliant on their aerials for combos, and you can't hit those combos if you miss your L-cancels. Sheik would probably go up a bit, because her f-air (arguably her most powerful and reliable aerial) can be...

Smash Sisters Seeks to Normalize Female Competitors

Definitely happy with what SS is doing for the community so far. I think a lot of us understand what it's like to enter a room and see that there's nobody "like you" around: It makes you feel different, like you don't fit in. SS gives women an easy way to find a group they can feel welcome in...
