This picture with Sakurai's use of the word "combo" got me really excited. Which was followed by the disappointment of "foes can dodge, of course." I'm still hoping there are legit combos in this game.

Alright! Well I just found a handful of competitive players on my campus, and we've been given permission to use the gaming center, so I figure that's a perfect way to practice and gain experience.

I've only played a couple of Layton games, but I think as a smash character he would fit right in. There's lots of room for creativity with his moveset, and who doesn't like a guy in a top hat? Although one issue might be that Layton's character is too gentle (or gentlemanly) to be in smash. But...

What do you guys think the chances for Professor Layton are? I haven't heard any discussion about him making it in.
