I feel like that's what makes it a great tutorial. It shows you what a lot of basic movements look like, and tells you how to get those right and work towards the SHFFL rather than just learn it all at once

I wouldn't put it past kids born after melee. I got beat by a kid younger than melee last tourney I was at, and while his friends weren't near as good as him I could see there was genuine passion for the game in them. I've got hope for the next generation of melee-heads

The whole style can equal mindgames thing is legit, but you gotta earn it. If you get ahead using style, that crushes an opponents mindset and makes you seem way more elusive than you actually are. A lot of Ganons ground moves are slow, and he's slow himself, but he seems a lot more unavoidable...

I tend to play kind of ranged characters and I love Marths aesthetics, as well as him being the Melee equivalent to a ranged character, minus projectiles, but screw projectiles.

I think regardless of skill level, it's always worth entering tourneys. I suck, but I feel like I've learned more from tourneys than hours of tech practice. Not that you shouldn't practice tech, but tourneys are where you can apply everything you've learned and find out if it works Friendlies...
