New Melee Syntax school. You can WRITE character commands now!!

Is their any sort of hurtbox format? Basically something that would allow you to change the properties of your hurtbox during a specified animation? Something other than Body State.

DRGN’s DOL Manager - Easily Add Codes to Your Game!

Melee Will Return For CEO 2015, Project M Dropped, Smash 4 Likely

Seems mostly irrelevant as far as the competitive scene goes. You played "football" but you didn't play in the NFL. And likewise, if the newer smash games don't appeal to actual competitors, it doesn't matter what game the majority of people are playing if they don't go to tournaments or support...

Melee Will Return For CEO 2015, Project M Dropped, Smash 4 Likely

Really bad analogy. Football DOES change, in fact in the past couple years the game has evolved a lot on the professional level. And that's not even going into the massive amount of change the game underwent once they enforced a salary cap. I'm not just talking about the "meta" or the strength...

    We're running EXPERIMENTAL rules tomorrow!

Items are more akin to stage hazards than "modifiers". It seems like an arbitrary distinction. And again, items are on by default. It's not like a create a fighter thing, or unlocking various gems through single player mode.

    We're running EXPERIMENTAL rules tomorrow!

Alright, but you said that you wanted to start with a standard fighting game rule set philosophy. If you're not doing that, that's fine. But even then, you are in fact having a list of stage bans like past smash games. So the rules still need to be micro managed either way.

    We're running EXPERIMENTAL rules tomorrow!

Couldn't you just ban the more volatile items? The same way you did with the stages?

    We're running EXPERIMENTAL rules tomorrow!

So we're changing the rules. Something that we believe will make the game more competitive. Instead of forcing players to play a specific way, we are opening options; allowing players to play the game they want to play it. First thing first, we're going to throw out the rule book and start from...

    The attitude towards this game.

"IMO, it plays more like a fighting game than previous entries in the Smash series while still retaining the core Smash aspect." Holy ****. This is the most unintentionally hilarious thing I've read in a while. I'm sorry, I don't have anything of substance to add. Wow, made my day. lool

Random Tripping is back but in a new form?

Oh I see, thanks for clearing that up. That's kind of a strange mechanic.

Random Tripping is back but in a new form?

Are you sure? I've never seen Pikachus neutral b cause a trip and I don't see why it would. I do know that there are certain attacks that cause trip. But this seems much less consistent.

Random Tripping is back but in a new form?

At first I thought this was specific moves causing a trip such as Diddys bananas but the more I play the more it looks like random tripping is still in. It just seems to trigger whenever you get hit on the ground instead of when you start a dash. For example, in the match I just played Pikachus...

How do you think Smash 3DS will do competitively when Smash Wii U comes out?

I'm not really sure. From my point of view the game is a huge let down. So much of its content was carried over from Brawl. Some characters are almost entirely copied over whole sale. Rolls, spot dodging and shielding are still way to good. In fact, shielding is probably even better as shield...

Let's talk about 2015 - "Decline" in Melee?

I could see Melee getting even bigger in the coming years, not smaller. New faces to the scene, more people getting exposed to it.
