Technically speaking, Cloud has appeared on a Nintendo system before he got in so the rule still holds up but like others have said, I don't think Sakurai/Nintendo really cares about that rule anymore.

That's true. Hypothetically if Chun Li was picked before Min Min, I don't think Sakurai would say no to the ARMS guy's request and tell him to pick somebody else. If he wanted Min Min to be in really badly, I think Sakurai would honor the request regardless of any character overlap.

if they went with a BD character, I'd put money on Seth because he's the main hero for BD2. So the same situation for why they went with Luminary as the default Hero. But I think the question for me is would the character model be based off their artwork or their chibi design ?
