    South Dakota: Tourny/Meet-up Thread

Don't have a link to the Facebook page right now, but just search Facebook for South Dakota FGC and South Dakota Smash, they should be easy to find. Pretty sure there is a Melee meetup scheduled for sometime this week and there is a Smash 4 tournament at Galaxy scheduled for this coming Sunday...

    South Dakota: Tourny/Meet-up Thread

@GarrBear , check out the South Dakota FGC and South Dakota Smash Facebook pages for info on meetups, etc. We run Smash 4 at Galaxy Gaming every other Sunday and there are often Melee, PM, Smash 4, etc. weekly meet ups/tournaments posted in either one of those groups. Next fight night at...

@Dekuscrub , thanks for throwing that in there, sorry I forgot to give SD Smash its shout-outs as well :(

    South Dakota: Tourny/Meet-up Thread

@Xilient , we still play Smash 4 at Galaxy Gaming in Sioux Falls every other Sunday, in addition to a lot of other fighting games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and Guilty Gear. March 15 is the next meet-up. Check out the South Dakota FGC Facebook page or hit me up on here for some more...

    South Dakota: Tourny/Meet-up Thread

Yup, this Sunday's meet-up is canceled due to people being out of town and the Super Bowl, but it should regularly continue every other Sunday following that. I'll try and post on here whenever we're holding it. Feel free to add me on 3DS/Wii U or message me on here for more details or...

    Data Luigi Match-up Discussion Thread

Good stuff on the Mac matchup, everybody. I agree that smart use of the fireball and cyclone are key to the neutral game vs. Mac. I've also had success using reverse u-smash if Mac tries to side B or dash attack in. As a final note, and it may seem obvious, but I think stage selection will be...

    Data Luigi Match-up Discussion Thread

I'm having trouble with Little Mac. My issues: Optimal responses to a shielded tilt/smash. Luigi gets pushed too far back for a dash grab, so that cuts out my favorite option. Getting gimped from my recovery. Dsmash will knock Luigi out of Up B before he snaps to the ledge. I've been able to...

I don't think having defensive options is a bad thing in Smash Bros.

Nice post, OP. Carefully worded to avoid stepping on toes and avoids conclusive statements. I personally enjoy comparing the differences between the games in the series. I think it's helpful to know where Smash has been and where it's going. Plus it's just fun to compare and debate play styles...

    South Dakota: Tourny/Meet-up Thread

I played with some of your guys yesterday at Galaxy, actually! I'll take you up on joining that group, I'd love to get into smashing more. I've mostly just been playing 4, but because of those guys I've been dabbling in Melee, just need the practice time.

Scrub, how many in your crew? There are 3-6 of us in Sioux Falls here that play pretty regularly that would love to get together and Smash!

    South Dakota: Tourny/Meet-up Thread

To any Smashers in the Sioux Falls area: We've been running Smash 4 on Wii U every other Sunday at Galaxy Gaming from 2-8 PM. We are meeting this Sunday, the 7th of December. So far there has been enough interest to have two set-ups going, so plenty of competition and smashing to be had. We're...

    Spooktacular Stages: Luigi Stage Discussion

Nice write up on Duck Hunt. I agree with your observations, I love that stage. The tree on the left makes recovering unique; you can recover high and land on a platform to try and evade edgeguarding, and Luigi's quick, damaging aerials help to make those platforms dangerous for an opponent to...

    Character Competitive Impressions

I don't disagree with mach cyclone's potential for chasing off stage, but I'd disagree that default cyclone is as bad as you're making it out to be. Streamlined, yes. Laggy, definitely. If used in neutral simply to skim along the ground and hoping your opponent forgets to shield, you'll get...

    Character Competitive Impressions

That's really the question. Default cyclone has equal or better applications then previous iterations of the move, and I think its potential is too great to give up for better recovery, even considering Luigi's below average recovery. Short hop over projectiles into cyclone can give Luigi a...
