    Please critique my new Fox

Watching high level Fox videos and reading your advice helped me realize that I need to pick my spots and times when to shield, because many times putting up shield can be unnecessary and put myself in a disadvantageous position. I need to work on the analyzing part of my game. I feel like I...

    Please critique my new Fox

Thanks so much for the luigi matchup tips. I also noticed how much I stay in shield, so you are right than I should change my bad habit of shielding for too long into a good habit by dashing out of shield and utilizing his incredibly fast movement. I also need to work on picking up on my...

    Please critique my new Fox

I'm really looking forward for the feedback and critique everyone gives me. This tournament, I go by the tag Sandyballz and have recently decided to dual main Fox and Falco after initially being strictly a Falco main. I've been playing Fox for a little under a month, but the transition seemed a...

Why does The Moon use N-air so much?

I notice a lot that when the Moon whiffs a spaced d-tilt, he uses nair to stuff any approaches that are meant to punish him. I can see why he does it because it covers different levels within different timeframes. The first hit of nair can cover a short hop approach, while the second hit of nair...

Optimizing My Punish Game as Marth

On spacies, Kadano's Perfect Marth Class should have percentages on when throw combos work and what options you should do to maximize the combo. Marth relies on punishing your opponents for mis-spacing. Opponents without a jump can be easily juggled by Marth, and when opponents are trying to DI...

Question on dair to platform -> fallthrough dair

As long as you input the dair as soon as you platform drop, you should still hit your opponent.

    Tips for new Falcos

Falco is all about rhythm and applying pressure. The cool thing about Falco lasers is that you can apply pressure from across the stage and even right in front of them. Forcing opponents to shield due to Falco's abundant ways of pressuring them gives you advantage. Tech-chasing and lasers in...

when is it safe to go after somebody off the edge?

my general rule is to never go off stage without a jump unless you know you can recover back on stage. never dip too low that you're double jump and upB won't allow you to recover. Know your heights as well and don't hesitate to use upB as soon as possible.

when is it safe to go after somebody off the edge?

you're being pretty vague. what exactly are you doing off-stage? are you throwing out aerials? are you getting hit by your opponent?you need to be more specific. if anything, my advice would be to know your aerial frame data. Know when the ending lag is for all your aerials.

    Help against Sheik?

To execute the nair, make sure you input the nair on your way down during your fast fall. The sheik will be looking to shield grab you, so nairing this way will allow you to shine before they can grab you. Utilize crouch cancelling against a lot of Sheik's moves when you see them coming...

    Why did you choose Falco?

I chose Falco because I loved the thought of keeping pressure on my opponent from across the stage and dictating neutral. Also, Falco is very combo-oriented and more calculated in the combo game due to his lack of speed compared to Fox. Utilizing platforms and following the opponent's DI...

Is laser spamming a good option?

It's a big part of Falco's game, but someone great at powershielding will counter those tactics. There is no such thing as an optimal amount of lasers, but there is an optimal space and time to laser. Falco's combo game is just as good as his neutral game, and it would be a shame to not use...

    Aggro, read-oriented Marth play?

Regardless of whether you use Marth or Falco, you will have to change your playstyle depending on the opponent's playstyle and character matchup. There will be times that an aggressive approach won't always be beneficial. Aggression does not only mean playing on top of opponents and not giving...

    PPMD's Falco Discussion Thread

In regards to waveshining, Is it expected to reset your control stick to neutral in between the shine and the wavedash to avoid turning around in shine? I know sometimes I accidentally do a turnaround waveshine because I tend to hold towards the direction I'm going to wavedash in. Should I just...

    Q&A Falco Q&A

Input your aerial right before you land so that he doesn't have enough time to shield grab. By the time you have l-cancelled your aerial, your opponent will still be in shield stun, allowing you to shine or grab. Mix up your approaches with your lasers. You don't need to go aggro all the time...
