I always thought that it loaded faster from the SD card, not slower. At least that's how it is for me.

Try removing that ladder. It really looks out of place IMO.

I noticed that with Peach if you pull a turnip in the air after you used at least one float you're unable to jump or use ^B (and maybe other actions as well). Edit: Yep it stops you from doing anything, even grabbing ledges.
