Everyone's sitting here deciding the meta with standard weapons, no custom gear, and only having played a maximum of 2 hours. Quick charge for snipers or an actual scope will make them great, damage up will make rollers actual shotguns. Too early to judge it, man.

Personally, I feel that right now we either aren't exploring the potential of Ice Beam regulars, or that they actually are just garbage. I know that if the change was sped up more, I'd use it more. As it stands, Plasma is just more useful now that U-Smash and F-Air link properly.

I'm pretty sure that Pokemon Bank has a "trial" period of like a week or something if you just want to transfer instead of actually storing Pokemon there. IIRC, it was in a dev roundtable thing that they had before X/Y came out.
