I'd like to think that a high level character who isn't immediately top 3 but still gives Cloud trouble is Mario. He, and Greninja, can effortless edgeguard him once he's off stage (or at least for him to burn Limit) with Water. Add in being good at combos and it seems there's a solid recipee...

Actually, in Uprising, he has the power of Flight from having absorbed another Goddess' powers. At first, it was Pandora, and by the end game, Viridi ended up semi-adopting him into her forces (or so Pit's Smash Taunt implies when used on Dark Pit). If anything, Dark Pit's free-flying ability...

Signing up an hour or so beforehand with a set up might still be okay, yes? I'm still on the fence about being a waste of a bracket-slot, but I am wondering how terrible I am....though if I get my tail handed to me by one of the best in the state, what do I have to complain about?

You tell that to any of the Warios, Yoshis, Duck Hunts, Charizards, and other Corrins! :p I'll probably decide day of if I've got the confidence to actually play, but if I can make it I'll be bringing a full on set up. The only things I don't have are a table and chairs.

I certainly wish I could help a bit more than nothing. I don't know much about the match up, and would like to learn more of it personally, just because of a roadblock it created for me a few days from this post. The only piece of advice that I feel like I could give that's worth contributing...
