Meta Knights of Elibe: Discuss Roy Strategies and Technology Here

When you say DB, what are you referencing? I thought you were saying dancing blade, but realized you use DED for double edge dance (which some people misnamed dancing blade).

So when you go for DB, do you use jump to avoid the shield drop frames or just shield drop and throw out the move? Personally if I dropping shield I like to go for f-tilt since it's safer on whiff, but I could see DB be good if your going for a harder punish or you're using jump to avoid the...

Meta Knights of Elibe: Discuss Roy Strategies and Technology Here

I guess the main OOS options I actually see (other than grab and sometimes blazer) are aerials. I see a decent number of higher level roys throw out a hit box, sheid, follow with aerial. I guess I don't see why they always seem to throw out the sheilds after a nair, fair, etc.

Meta Knights of Elibe: Discuss Roy Strategies and Technology Here

I was curious if anyone could give me some ideas on what to do for edge guards and roys OOS options? I feel like Roy has some reliable options OOS and I see a lot of top players shielding a lot more than I do, so I feel like I should be looking into using shield aggressively. I moved this...

    Q&A Tactical Deployment - Roy Q&A Thread

I was curious what true follow up there are for jab at low percentage? I though jab to grab was a thing, but I was getting jabbed out of the grab by fox when playing online. Is jab into grab ever true?

    Q&A FALCON ASK !! Q&A and FAQ

I was curious when people opt for dash attack over dash grab? I find I generally go for the grab because of guaranteed follow up, but was curious when I should look to dash attack instead.

    Pikachu vs Defensive Falcon

^This. You can crouch under dash grab and dash attack which are some of Falcon's main combo starters and punishes making this really awful for Falcon.

    Pikachu vs Defensive Falcon

Falcon has no projectile, so he shouldn't be able to be defensive against pikachu. If he's trying to wall you out with bair, just thunder jolt him until he's forced to approach. Pikachu is one of falcon's harder match ups because pikachu is so small that his dash grab will often miss and falling...

New pikachu, where to get started?

So what I've seen is if the fair finishes, the last hit pushes opponents too far away to follow up with a tilt, jab, or grab. Therefore, if you auto cancel the fair, you get the last hit preventing follow ups. Is this not correct?

New pikachu, where to get started?

So looking at Esam's guide, it looks like he doesn't fair until about the peak of the short hop that way it cancels before the last hit. So you can't do this with the buffered fairs he shows to space on neutral.

New pikachu, where to get started?

So just to clarify, doing a buffered fair and fastfalling on the first hit will prevent the full knockback so I can get followups? Is there a video of this I can watch just to get a better idea of the timing?

    Punishing Neutral get up

I did this today. It was awesome.

New pikachu, where to get started?

When you do the fastfall fair, do you delay the fair until right before you fast fall? That's the only way I've been able to get follow ups and that doesn't auto cancel, so it seems like an unsafe move (although it leaves a small so do for the opponent to punish). If you fair right away it's...

New pikachu, where to get started?

I thought you could only do quick attack into the ground once, so your tight spot combo wouldn't work? Also is there any difference between :GCR: and :GCDR: in terms of end lag? I hear a lot of people say chip damage should be: :GCU:+:GCB:+:GCR:+:GCDL: So you get the faster end lag?
