Alright but then what should I be using nair for?

I'm still pretty new to Sheik and I was wondering when should i be using fair and when should i be using nair and if there were any other tips in general for a newbie like me coming from a (bad) jigglypuff.

I am in no context good at all but I have my basic movement and fundamentals good enough to be seen as "competitive" so I was wondering what exactly I should be doing and practicing to get better. I'm also not really sure how to explain how experienced I am so I will gladly answer questions...

How is melee at this event and what are the usual number of entrants for melee?

Will there also be melee or just Smash 4?
