    Smash will SUCK without L-Canceling

That's the point. We can't say that Brawl is more or less balanced than Melee based on what we know right now.

    Smash will SUCK without L-Canceling

This is ridiculous. You can't argue that Brawl is "more balanced than Melee" when it's been out for all of two days, especially if you've never played the game. Brawl seems fairly balanced now because any character can win in casual play--but at the casual level, Melee is balanced too! We won't...

    Advanced Techniques in Brawl

Why do people think l-canceling is absolutely crucial? Removing l-canceling wouldn't be the same thing as removing combos, especially if aerial attacks were designed with less landing lag to begin with. Honestly, think about it for like two seconds. If Melee didn't have l-canceling, but all...

    The Bubbleshield: *New and Improved!*

The shield doesn't pop up if you input the left/right direction fast enough after you press L/R. Or try this: hold the c-stick left or right, and then press L/R. The fact that the shield doesn't appear before rolling in the Brawl trailers doesn't mean that the shield is gone, because it doesn't...

    Air grabs? good or bad

    Meteor cancel. Yeah.

    Idea: Modification of the L-cancel

Wavedashing is an advanced tactic that creates depth, because once learned, wavedashing becomes one of several strategic options. There are times to wavedash and times not to wavedash--it has unique advantages and disadvantages, and the player must consider whether it's more effective to...

    Advanced Techniques in Brawl

Well, the PAL version was released just four months after the US version. I'm pretty sure wavedashing wasn't really in use until a few years into the game.

    Advanced Techniques in Brawl

Here: http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=53863&highlight=landfallspecial I'm pretty sure that's the one you're talking about. That link provided earlier in this post explains it pretty well, but here's the gist of it: Landfallspecial is the animation used when you land at any point during...

    Advanced Techniques in Brawl

... What's all this talk about wavedashing being overly complex? It requires three inputs, people. Direction, jump, air dodge. Down-left, X, L. You can hold the direction beforehand, and the X/L inputs are so close to each other that you might as well just think of them as being pressed at the...

    What brawl really needs...

I don't see why some people are so opposed to the idea. It would be an option - meaning OPTIONAL, so if you don't want to use it, you don't have to. It's obviously not for competitive play, but I think it'd be fun to have a 3-on-1 battle of regular characters vs. Giant Metal Ganon.

    Guilty Gear Series

Aksys isn't the developer of GGXXAC; it's a publishing company that specializes in translating Japanese games into English. GGXXAC is definitely coming to the US.

    What about a handicap list?

There would be all sorts of controversy, since there's no way to set a real standard. Who's to say whether Sheik deserves a 5 or a 6? Does Bowser get a 9 because he's bottom tier, or an 8 because he's slightly better than Mewtwo? Would the SBR vote on it and expect everyone to conform...

    Most balanced fighters?

    Yeah -_- Too bad, right?

    Most balanced fighters?

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core is pretty well-balanced. According to most ranking charts, the game's most uphill match-ups still give around 35% win chance to the weaker character. Out of the game's 253 or so match-ups, only about 3 are considered less balanced than 40-60, which means that the other...
