Take a look at Paper Mario--it had an epic-enough storyline and kids actually paid attention to it, that's for sure. It was rather kid-themed, but adults enjoyed it too.

I believe there will be more Smashes after Brawl, considering how many Mario Parties there are... *shivers* On a more-related note, you also have to consider factors of new Nintendo characters appearing over time. That may lead to a forever-chain of Smash games (though very unlikely).

We don't need the epicness, or the legendary story mode. But wouldn't it be better to have that instead of a spiced-up Classic mode? I don't see why people seem to be against/passive about the whole storyline mode thing.
