Welcome for a guide on my secondary Robin!
In the guide I will be covering combos, uses for each move, and mixups
General
Robin's play-style will suit people who enjoy using projectiles to link combos, Robin is the slowest character in the game and will heavily rely on projectiles to assist him/her. He/she is a zoner meaning she will need to use projectile to limit the options of your opponent
A Attacks
Tilts
Up Tilt: Damage - 6 Uses-Juggling Frame - 6-13
Side Tilt: Damage - 7 Uses-Spacing Frame - 9-10
Down Tilt Damage - 6 Uses-Combos/Spacing Frame - 7-8
Smash Attacks *All Smashes are used to kill*
Up Smash: Damage-15 Levin 9 Bronze Frame - 12-27
Side Smash: Damage-16 Levin 9 Bronze Frame - 16-27
Down Smash: Damage-15 Levin 8 Bronze Frame - 16-28
I recommend using d-smash to kill because it covers a wide hitbox around Robin.
Aerials
Up Air: Damage 13 Levin 7 Bronze Frame 10-23 Uses-Kills
Forward Air: Damage 12 Levin 7 Bronze Frame 12-19 Uses-Combos
Back Air: Damage 15 Levin 9 Bronze Frame 9-16 Uses-Kills
Down Air: Damage 10 Levin 7 Bronze Frame 13-22 Uses-Spikes
*Only Levin Sword D-air will spike*
Neutral Air: Damage 7 Front and Back hit Frame 9-25 Uses-Combos
Specials
Durability
Before we get into the specifics of moves I want to explain how many uses each tome has.
Thunder Tome=20 Regen=12 Seconds
Thunder=1
ElThunder=3
ArcThunder=5
Thoron=8
ArcFire=6 Regen=12 Seconds
ElWind=18 (For Each Blade of Wind) Regen=7 Seconds
Nosferatu=4 Regen=40 Seconds
Moves
Neutral Special: A very important tool in Robin's arsenal! This tome has 4 different variants use thunder as just a last minute option if you're in panic but you probably won't need it since its outclassed by elthunder, open with elthunder its a move that does surprisingly alot of damage and travels far good projectile to just throw out for spacing, arcthunder can be used for combos which will be covered in the combo section, thoron can be used to kill as it kills early off stage at 80%.
Side Special: Robin's bread and butter! Most combos come from this move so you absolutely have to know how to use this move if you want to play Robin.
Up Special: Robin's recovery. In the durability section I say that this move has 18 durability, but that doesn't mean 18 uses. It means each blade of wind uses 1 durability so each up b costs 2. The fist hit of this move spikes but not the second, this move goes pretty far vertically but not horizontally so watch out when recovering.
Down Special: Nosferatu is pretty much a life steal move. Don't use this off stage or else you WILL die no matter how close you are to the ledge. The more damage you have the more damage you will heal so say you are at 300% you would heal about 100% as oppose to being at 100% and healing 20%
Misc Attacks
Dash Attack: Damage 10 SweetSpot 6 SourSpot Frame 8-18 Never use this attack, its VERY slow, can be easily be punished, and doesn't do that much damage there are other moves that are better than this like your tilts.
Jab: Damage - 12 Fire Jab 17 Wind
Its recommended that you use the fire jab since the wind jab takes durbility from your up b which you need to recover.
Combos
Thankfully from Sakurai, Robin was blessed with a combo throw!
D-Throw -> Jab
D-Throw -> U-Tilt
D-Throw -> U-Air
ArcFire -> F-Air -> F-Air
ArcFire -> U-Air
D-Throw -> B-Air
D-Tilt ->Grab
ArcFire -> F-Air ->Nair
F-Throw -> Throron
Conculsion
Thank you all so much for reading and taking time out of your day to read this!
It seriously means the world to me because I've spent so much time making this guide. I think the next guide i'll be doing will be a Lucas guide. I would do Shulk since he's my main but i'm pretty sure that DistantKingdom has got that covered and i should do characters that don't have as many guides. Bye everyone! ^-^
