Hey guys, lets all post every single image of Yoshi we have. Liek... NOW

[collapse=Beware, Big Yoshi Images]

[/collapse]

The last picture here is my Yoshi Hat, I sometimes wear it but people tend to think i'm weird for doing so for some odd reason. I've been told his eyes hypnotize people.
I wonder if i'll get some kinda infraction for all these images.

Hey Yink, to let you know, I archived some of the information here now. I'ma inform other Yoshis that will be helping in resupplying/updating the information to also archive posts so you can completely make this board clean again. So, prolly wait until the weekend to start that so other Yoshis can have time to get their information (and see the message).

Say Yoshi's, how would you like an Out of shield option other than Roll and spot dodge?[/sales pitch]

Anyways, came here because I thought it'd help you guys the most. Messing around in brawl today, trying to platform drop and found a pretty easy way to do it.

The simplest way I found was:
1. Shield on a platform
2. Push the control stick diagonal(down-left/right)
3. Press down
After that, every character dropped through the platform.

Is this helpful?

We found this out last year sadly, but noone like put a small but simple Step to Step guide to it, So the newer Yoshi's can start doing this rather then making an entirely new thread on "How I do this, I only find post saying we can do it!".

Thanks anyways.

Nice. Yes you can also think of it as doing a quarter circle downwards too if it helps. Which is how I learned it. :)

Well I did look in the guide before I posted and couldn't find anything on it so that's why I decided to check here. Feel free to add that information there now.

Describing it as quarter circle downward(632 or 412) isn't the best because its only an eighth of a circle(32 or 12) and the forward part(6 or 4) will cause a roll. I just feel it might confuse people if you call it that.

K. Yea I could see that. I doubt I do a whole quarter circle, but it's just how I think about it. I can see how it might confuse ppl though.

What's good yoshies? Scatty you should reveal what you're gonna do for let's play sometime

I have to write a paper, that I lost, that's due tomorrow. If I do record tonight, it'll only be for a little. I might choose to get a lot recorded after my classes tomorrow, but you'll get the video fairly soon (as well as others that are watching it).

Use egglay when ever possible? :D
No. In my eyes, to be the best Yoshi in every aspect, one knows that he/she must be **** at playing Yoshi; however that player should be someone who is a constant help to other Yoshi mains (particularly newcomers and improving ones). A player that is able to explain the stuff and help others strive to be even better than before shows that they have leadership to back the skills they already possess. It all matters here and in the results; it's not just in one place. It's one of the main reasons as to why I had so much "fame" people claimed. I had decent results (flashy playstyle that sort of shaded the fact that my results were lackluster), but I put in a lot of work here to help people improve and learn more about Yoshi and this game.

Yet, that's just what I believe a Yoshi main that is the best and is remembered for being the best. It's not about showing you're the best (unless you're doing it to people that don't main the character and probably don't care), it's about showing how you care for the [Yoshi] community and it's players.

Yeah, and that's (in a way) why I've seen these boards degrade as time went on from 2008. We were extremely active and very helpful to one another (even Lil B was at that time), and now the place barely has conversation going on (with the only conversation being directed towards the top 5). Newcomers don't talk cause they don't ask anything from dead boards and from our lack of information. Many people don't realize that being on the path to being the best doesn't just mean win as much as possible. Some of the best (that aren't selfish) help others regardless and want to see others be better. That kind of thing shows much more than what results can show in my opinion.

It's not that I don't want to help newcomers, but I am not a good teacher at all. Sure, I'm more than happy to give them some pointers, but I'm not confident in my ability to extensively help them. As you may know, I'm not the most technical Yoshi out there and my playstyle is totally different from everyone else's, which is why I usually don't critique videos. I just don't want to steer people along the wrong path.

Still, I try to help the Yoshi community in my own way. For example, I'm sure that once the match-up discussions are completed it'd be a great help to everyone, which is why I've been pressuring Z'zgashi to continue them. There are also some projects that I want completed, such as a video showing Yoshi's hitbubbles (which still hasn't been made). I'm also doing my best to represent Yoshi in the BBR.

Sure, I may not directly help people, but I still show my support for the Yoshi community.

Okay, so you're afraid that you can't express the correct information to newcomers. Question is, who's right and wrong? I explain things I've done in my actually matches and the outcomes from taking those scenarios. Even if I may not know all the scenarios, I'll still try to explain to not only help myself, but to help them. Even though you could be wrong when explaining things, you can be corrected by your community. You can only improve explaining things if you actually put yourself in those positions.

We all have the same core that originates from Yoshi. His basics aren't going to change no matter what way you look at them. You're looking at the advanced side instead of looking at it in steps. You can still help out even though you don't think you can.

Pushing for things to happen is fine. Shows persistence; however, one may argue that just being in the BBR isn't everything. You're helping, but helping in a section where it's not related to the community directly. Why should we be worried about our ranking on a list? It wouldn't change anything for us in the long run (if you don't understand this part, then it's fine). Helping out other players to be better and place better would help in the long run because there's more players doing good with Yoshi.

My point is, don't settle for indirect assistance. We get better by making mistakes and learning from them (then pass it on to the newcomers).

Still, I'm not sure how helpful I could be. Apparently, almost everyone here hates me for some reason and probably won't take my advice into account. =/

Polt, without skype you are meaningless to the yoshi community <3.
I actually was forced by my parents to get Skype last month after I got a laptop with a built-in camera and microphone. I've only used it once, though.

I don't know the reason to hate you, but some I know are not credible (Yika has personal bias to you for instance). Others troll (which is still a problem here, but less than before). You still should show the help, and it's still important to have fun. Like think about it, if you're going to be the best Yoshi main, how can you also be the black sheep of the Yoshi community? *This is on a social standpoint and does not carry as much relevance* You don't really talk to too many of the Yoshis here (except on a random moment in this thread) unless it's about matchup discussions or so. That's why I'm saying there's more to being the best than just getting the results.

Fine, I guess I'll try to help out more...

We seriously need a Yoshi hitbubble video, though.
