A couple threads (particularly by Qwerty UIOP & Tankman from Newgrounds) have tried the idea of an Xbox/Microsoft Smash competitor. They have been inactive & I wanted to revive the concept but with a twist. Seeing the success & potential Nintendo found with the Super Smash Bros. series, Microsoft has decided not only to make a competitor but to make it a flagship series alongside Halo right from the start with their 1st generation console.
This project takes inspiration from GamingFan1997's Smash Series remake thread as we go through generations with different series & characters coming & going which should hopefully produce something a little different from creating a normal modern crossover (It would be cool to see other iterations of this idea too with something like PS).
Below is a rough timeline for the series.
Cuts
We will try to match Smash in terms of content, although we will be playing catchup but will hopefully close that gap with 360 DLC. We will be focusing on the Roster, Stages, & Assists. We will also talk about Modes & Items but how much will depend on general interest. Submittions will always be open if anyone wants to dive further into specifics with movesets, alts, music, etc. for entries they like but there is currently no intent to have dedicated jobs for these topics. Thread will normally be updated every weekday within approximately 24 hrs.

- Everything is Here, Smash had Everyone but Xbox is going the extra mile to get all previous content back after Smash came up barely short in several categories.
- This includes Assists who got promoted (Theresa, Dark Queen, & Jetman) having their assist return but will be blocked if the fighter iteration is chosen.
- A big returning mode is 360s Adventure Mode however it is not all available at launch with free updates completing the mode later now.
- All Arcade Mode endings are available too. Treated similar to Palutenas Guidance/Snake Codecs with new fighters (& future dlc in our case) getting the newer CG endings & only characters from the earlier games having their comic book style endings.
- Custom moves return however due to a competitive scene ban their is notably less effort towards balancing them.
- Due to a focus on returning content, new content is more limited especially in this category. However boss rush does get a new final boss & secret final boss (by clearing so quickly with higher difficulties giving you more time)
- Diablo
- The Devil (Cuphead)(Secret)
- A few new items are added
- Nothing nominated but feel free to share any ideas at any time.
