Just a couple of days ago I had the huge misfortune of getting caught cheating on a test for the first time. Ironically, it was also the very first time I had attempted to cheat in college...
Long story short, I had written a few tiny formulas on a small index card as a result of not preparing for my math test well enough. I hid it in the sleeve of my jacket and would cautiously slide it out to get a peek at the formulas whenever I needed them. About half way through the test, I had gotten so used to seeing the formulas that I didn't even need to look at them anymore. However, I had gotten so comfortable that I completely forgot the slip of paper was even in my sleeve. See where this is going? A little while afterwards my careless, idiotic self decided to get up and blow my nose. While I was walking towards the tissue box right next to the teacher's desk, the slip of paper fell RIGHT next to the teacher. I freaked out so hard when I saw my teacher stare at it and pick it up. I had heard that the consequences for cheating were MUCH more severe in college than in high school. I was thinking I would end up getting suspended for a semester or something.
To wrap things up, I only ended up receiving a 50 on the test without any additional consequences since my teacher personally knew me and understood that I was usually a good student. Looking back on that moment I've decided to never resort to cheating on a test again, because I could have gotten expelled. Getting expelled is NEVER worth a few extra points on an exam. I recommend that the rest of you follow suit.
Well that's my story. What about you guys? Have you ever been caught lying, cheating, or stealing? If so, what's your worst instance where you were?
