these babies cry too much. That's why I'm never having kids!

Brawl will be amazing. Wavedashing doesn't make the game, the players make the game, so no wavedashing will not be the end all of Brawl. End of discussion.
this is exactly what I believe. people whine and moan about nothing. I think it's all the waiting we're doing for Brawl. It would drive anyone crazy. So the longer we wait, the more crappy pointless whining threads we'll see.

They'll all disappear when the game is out and every baby gets their bottle and shuts the hell up. They'll have their chance at testing out their doubts and come to realize that it really is an astounding game.

If I was impatient like 80% of this forum, I'd post up threads about doubts and possible disappointments because the long wait would make me "worry" too. Thankfully, I'm a very patient person who's also optimistic and has faith in Sakurai. ;)

PS: my signature's .gif is testament to my hatred towards children. every crybaby posting up threads about speculative trash should be kicked just like this (signature)!

or even better, like this:

How on earth is that a fact that "pros will always use it and scrubs will always whine about it"? You haven't even seen me play. Of course I cannot prove anything to you without a match, but believe me when I say I'm pretty good at the game. I just feel like wavedashing takes away from the experience.

As to Red's comment. Yeah, I joined not that long ago. But that should not go against me being credible in my arguments. I've played both smash brothers games since day 1. I'm a big fan of the series, I joined the boards because it seems like it would get some inside information at times. I also thought it might be awesome to maybe get some wii console numbers to face new challengers.

Anyway, you make a decent point about snaking and wave dashing. While they are not exactly the same (which I never claimed they were if you read my wording carefully) they are very very similar. They are two "methods" of play that are in the game unintentionally. It just ruins what the game was originally meant to be. That's all I am saying. I'm not trying to start a another fight about this, but I am just tired of people complaining about losing wavedashing. It was not suppose to be in the smash series to begin with.

I've made myself clear.
Ha. Every noob with an irrational fear of wavedashing has said this, and it's not true. You would have no chance against the average tournament player. I know you'll say not to judge you or something, but if you are the kind of person who won't bother with advanced techniques, you're not good.

Aniki proved that you don't have to wavedash and it's not important......
No, he most certainly did not. He is good, but many, many players could beat him. There's no way he's meeting his full potential.

Brawl will be an utterly fantastic game. If all these big and small updates we've seen are of any indication, they've taken everything in Melee and improved on it entirely... seriously, I couldn't see any way to massively improve the humble Home Run Contest, but they really did find a way to do it! We are going to be witnessing a massive jump, just like from 64 to Melee, and that's going to put the epic-meter right through the roof.

As for wavedashing, I'm pretty certain people will adapt. After all, wavedashing is just one of many advanced techniques that extreme players found during the game's lifespan. Just give the Brawl players a few years and I'm sure we'll all be swimming in more crazy tricks and moves, and wavedashing will only be a distant memory... unless there's a wavedashing replacement, but who knows what's hidden inside that game at the moment?

I'm pretty thankful I've been able to keep my hype for this game to a reasonable level, if this place and other ones are any indication... the only thing I'm looking forward to is Luigi, and he isn't really the biggest risk you could take with character anticipations. Oh well, I'm looking forward to the giant war the erupts when the Brawl roster is announced!

Wow, Puffin, a little full of yourself, aren't you?
It may have come off that way, but really, I'm just frustrated. It's true that we have many people with no reason to hate wavedashing asserting that they could compete with the best if they tried. You didn't go that far, but I don't understand your hate for the competitive community's workings. It's easy to just not become a part of it.

By the way, I'm not nearly as good as the pros either. I am, however, decent, and I use advanced techniques.

OMG your so right silly competitive players lolz!

Actually, we understand that perfectly. Regardless of the truth that Brawl is not, in fact, Melee, we want it to be a good, deep game. It cannot have the kind of depth that made Melee so great without advanced techniques. I'm not saying it won't be deep, but if not, it will be a failure in my eyes.

They're part of a series, if people want new everything they should go play another game. I'm not saying Brawl should clone Melee but it shouldn't change everything for changing's sake [i.e. momentum airdodge, even if WDing was still out, momentum airdodging is bad no matter how you look at it].

It doesn't make much sense when people say 'it's a new game!' because it's not, it's part of a series and it wouldn't make sense to stray too far off unless you did something wrong at the beginning.

Think of it as a movie series. It wouldn't make sense if Matrix was an action movie and Matrix Reloaded was a musical. They're two different movies but that doesn't mean the creators can just change up everything to make it new again.

I know it sounds harsh but it's the truth. Smash can only change so much before it stops being smash. You still knock your opponents upwards or off the stage to kill them, the damage system is more or less the same, the base of the game is still the same but there are just different additions to it.

Brawl might not be Melee but it's still smash.

no matter what game you play there will always be bugs that you can exploit. so don't worry about the game not having advance techs. plus i hear that each jump you do you can air dodge.... this strictly rumor so i don't but there are going to alot of things that will change the mechniacs and make the game more tactful than a beat em up of pressing buttons. more mind games.... like chess *heh* this game is going to be amazing. remember this game is not melee. but this game in my opinion is going to be better than melee....
plus online play ^_^

Wavedashing was a glitch, made some characters (slaps Fox) WAY better, took the spirit out of the game, and looked weird. I preffered not to use it. And yes, it will surpass even your expectations. Why are you on smashboards when you are against us?

And by the way, Dojo is awesome b/c we obsess with Brawl.
And also, it's zero LASER. How dare you disrespect Samus.

I'm glad wavedashing is out, and I could do it awesomely with Samus. I want to play the game as the developer intended it, not exploit little glitches for radical differences in tier lists and suchforth. I have faith that this will be the best smash yet.

He most certainly did. He is a pro Japan player and is ranked 8th in some power ranking battle over there.

I think i never wavedashed before to be honest, And im really good at melee so it really dosen't matter to me, But don't say Brawl will fail cause it's basically a dream come true that there even making brawl, Melee came out 2001 so think it took 6 years. 6 Damm years, Anyway if your not gonna like it because of one technique then find a new technique or don't play it at all. Nuff Said

QUOTED FOR EMPHASIS!!!

wow, this is it these were my thoughts i couldn't find the words for. For one making the games fighting style be in the air when they said that I didn't like it, I like the combination melee gives for the player to choose how they fight, so they can all have more of a different fighting style.

P.S. Why do people think using the WD makes such a big difference? It gives you some positioning/spacing, ok, what else? what makes it so 'cheap'???
