Why does SideB connect as they roll through it?

My SideB does the "connecting animation" to Falco as he rolls and doesn't take any damage. Can anyone explain what's going on here?

my guess is that there's a lingering hurt box on Falco just as he began his roll and when Daisy's side B connected. This has happened to me a few times, which is quite frustrating. However I usually do find some way to capitalize on it, usually with a b-air or n-air. It also might be a glitch, which could get patched out. I do remember this same exact problem in Smash 4, I believe. But it's not too big of a problem, as I think Peach/Daisy is in a better disadvantage state in this situation rather than whiffing it completely.
