Why do so many people support claus now?

I mean seriously there wasn't to much support for him up until about a month ago. Why do so many people support him? Earthbound/mother is a small small series anyways so why should lucas AND his stupid evil brother be in?

I bet this claus fad will die out soon.

WRONG, At Starmen.NET There was loads of support for him and in japan as well, The support has just risen recently since i brought it to nsider and someone (Bubbleman_Nsider.) Brought it to Smashboards and Ves recreated it, He's not a fad...Why do so many people support him?At least he has a better chance then roy , Also he is a very unique original character who could help bring the mother series internationally. Earthbound/mother is a small small series anywaysTrue about it being small but i can't say it's that small, Sakurai tends to REALLY Like M3 And M3 Sold the best out of the three, Oh and it's an insane cult-cut hit in japan.

Your logic fails once again, First of ashley has no chance at the roster whatsoever (Or little.) Because a more "Important" WW Character would have to go before her (Jimmy T or Mona?) While claus has all his competition dryed up and has quite good chances at playable, Also there are a couple of look-alikes in Smash like WWLink and how he probably will be in, And also they don't look alike at all as claus doesen't even have stripes on his shirt as it's black and he has a helmet etc and there moves are completely different, He's in no way "Another lucas" :|.

"Up until now" Again it seems that sakurai wants to represent all the mothers by using lucas (Which seems likely at this point considering how he took his moveset and whatnot.) And at max mother will get is two reps, With claus standing at a more likely posistion....

starmen is a mother fansite of course there will be lots of support for him. It wasn't a huge cult classic hit in japan you made that up. The mother series has a cult like following but alot of obscure games do. Also mario and zelda are huge franchises and starfox is pretty popular as well. Mother isn't.

Most people consider him deconfirmed for a combination of two reasons:

1) On the old Melee site, Sakurai said point-blank that he never wanted Ness to be in SSB (not even the original), and always wanted Lucas in instead. Ness only ever got in because Lucas' game was delayed for so long.

2) Lucas has been revealed to have Ness' special moves. This means that if Ness were back, he'd be a clone or pseudo-clone, and no one believes that would happen after the intense negative reaction to Melee's clones. (To answer the objection before it gets raised: yes, Ness could in theory get new moves, but it makes no sense for him, a two-time veteran, to get the new move set rather than Lucas, a newcomer to the series who has never had an SSB move set before, which is why almost no one believes that will happen.)

Technically he has not been totally deconfirmed - no one except characters shown as Assist Trophies have been, when you get right down to it - but the combination of those two facts leads most people to believe Ness is out.

As it has a HUGE Japanese fanbase and a QUITE WELL American fanbase to top that off, They support him massively as Smashboards did, Nsider did (A Bit.)
