I'm sorry if this thread has been made before, but I've recently ordered the GC white controller and I'm possibly going to look into purchasing a black one(preferably new) but I was wondering all of your opinions or preferences on GC controllers.

Personally I prefer the black one because it was a bit smaller in design.

They're all the same, assuming they're first party

No, they are not completely the same. You can see the differences in section 2.5 here. In general, the official white Nintendo controller you get when ordering from Amazon through smashboards is the best as it always has type 3 stickboxes. There are a few players who prefer type 2 stickboxes slightly, but all in all I think most prefer 3.

The official Nintendo white GameCube controllers have a longer cord so they're the best. Here's a picture of mine along with a few of my other controllers.

I own a black one too.

Wait, the SmashBoards Amazon store controllers have the removable stick boxes?! Those are BY FAR the best. I've only gone through 3 stick boxes that are removable in my entire competitive Smash career. I went through almost 10 non-removable ones before I even started playing competitively (both control and C-sticks).

I think both of the sticks on my current controller were originally C-stick boxes, actually. Are there any differences between the C-stick boxes and control stick boxes?

Yes, they have.
No, these stickboxes used in both sticks as well as Wii CCs and CCpros are exactly the same.

Going white controller as a spacies main. This is my first new boxed controller and the controllers I used before were used for years by friends. Am I right in getting the new controller because the brand new stick will be better for the finer movements on falco than the old controller I had? Are there any notable advantages to getting a brand new controller for a faster technical character?

If you're having a hard time doing stuff with an old controller, chances are getting a new controller won't be the cure. Unless the old controller is ass, you should be able to execute most stuff on most controllers. I own four controllers, and only one of them actually slows me down due to a bad R trigger.

In fact, I bought a new white controller because my old controller lost the rubber on the control stick. When playing for a long time (>3 hours), I'd lose grip frequently, but before that, it was fine. When I got the white controller, I actually did worse until I wore the stick in to the point I liked.
