I believe C. Falcon is already going to return. But where in world are the other SSB veterans Luigi, Jigglypuff, and Ness?

same place she is:

but really now, it's a wonder people bring this up since it's too obvious that they'll most likely be back either way

WEll, obviously Ness is not returning. Lucas replaced him, as a more modern version. C.Falcon hasnt been announced yet... but he will return, and there is no way luigi wont return. As for Jigglypuff, i truly dont care for her.

They'll come whenever Sakurai feels like updating them. Plus, I dunno if Ness has a great shot at being back in.

I've heard thousands of people say the same thing but never really believed them.

hm meta just inspired a thought... wat if they give falcons old moveset and let ganondorf keep it, and change falcons moveset? that would completely suck...

NONE of the unlockable veterans have been revealed yet. That's just how it is. It says nothing about whether they're returning or not. (Although we do have hints towards Ness's demise.)

I feel the reason for the vets other than Ness, is that they are giving them new moves(mainly Luigi)

Well said, I couldn't have said it better myself, but if Captain Falcon gets new moves he needs to keep FALCON PUNCH!!!!!

Brawl will change this though, b/c there might not be many characters I use in this game, but it won't mean I don't care about em.
I understand. It's just that there seems to be lots of people out there that seem to hate Jigglypuff just cause of its appearance in battle.

Captain Falcon - Hiding from the fangirls
And fanboys.....

Anyway, why would Captain Falcon get a new moveset? That makes as much sense as giving Fox a whole new moveset.

I don't think that many veterans will return with extremely different movesets. Ganondorf will, of course, and very likely that Falco will. Luigi will only be changed slightly I am sure. I mean, if anything, he is SUPPOSED to be at least somewhat similar to Mario. Marth will be nerfed (Look at Fox...) and several bottom tierers that return will get beefed up.

But really, only returning clones, in my opinion, will get full makeovers. Meaning Captain Falcon will be quite similar. He was not top tier and other than the knee, not overpowered in any way, just good to combo with. I figure the knee will get a tone down and that is it for him. Possibly some grab changes, but that is less likely.

Not saying all of his moveset has to be new, but he could recieve new abilities.

Falcon: He should keep his moves since he had them first. Plus, they have nothing to do for a moveset other than make one up from thin air. Ganondorf should get the redesign.
Jigglypuff: I don't care. Why do so many people want Jigglypuff? Mewtwo was a much bigger icon.
Ness: Denial ( you are here), Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance
Luigi: New moves

Captain Falcon will return. Luigi will as well 'cos he put the Bros. in Super Smash Bros. Jigglypuff may come back and the Snake's voice actor slipped it out (I can't remember his name) but he may have been thinking about Melee...

Well, let's see here. Captain Falcon was an unlockable character in SSB, and then returned as a veteran in Melee, as an immediate playable. His moveset was pretty much, if not exactly, the same as it was in the first Smash Brothers game. If he and Ganondorf do return, then I doubt that Captain Falcon would lose his moveset, it would be Ganondorf. Not many of his moves suited him, especially with thatvictory pose he had, which was him with his sword.

Luigi has been a lot like Mario in nearly every game he's in, with minor changes to moves and such. In Super Paper Mario for example, he could jump higher than any other playable character. In Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels, Luigi can once again jump higher than Mario, but skids slightly across the ground when he stops running. I could see that added to him. Luigi might obtain the Poltergeist 3000 as his down-B, just like Mario received the FLUDD for his down-B. But all in all, very minor changes may be made to Luigi to make him less of a clone.

Jigglypuff is in her own little category I suppose. Not many people truly like her, but not many Pokemon can replace her in a Smasher's heart, or at all for that matter. She's been with us since the beginning of Smash and Pokemon itself. I doubt she'll get much of a change either, if at all. She's a more well known veteran than most people think. Look at the Ice Climbers; How many people had heard of the Ice Climbers before they appeared in Melee? Not a lot. More people had heard of Jigglypuff and Mewtwo. She most likely will be in.

Now for Ness. Ness was also within the first Smash game, and not many liked him from my knowledge. His bat though, was quite useful. THAT's what I think most people want back, is a bat that stays with your character all the time. It was a nice hard hitter, hitting like the Homerun Bat, just not as powerful and always with Ness. I'm not too sure if Ness will be making a return in Brawl, but if he does, he'll most likely need a moeset change, for Lucas is far too similar.

For a short summary, Falcon and Jigglypuff should most likely stay the same, some minor tweaks with Luigi's moveset, and in Ness returns, a rather large change in his moves. I'm sorry Ness fans, but you may just have to live with Lucas. Of course, that's just my opinion on the whole matter.

Ness was a freaking beast in SSB64. It's only after SSBM that people stopped playing as him so much.

As I had stated, it was only to my knowledge that he was rather unpopular. I myself have never owned the original Smash game, so I cannot experience him that well. The people I had played with didn't really like him all that much, which is what I had gone off of.

Falcon is still in the game, look at the Samurai Goroh assist trophy and the CF emblem is there. Normally an item from another game not featuring a playable character has the Smash Bros logo.
EDIT: also going by this the Mr. Ressetti Trophy has an Animal Crossing emblem so that could mean an AC character is in the game.

I also think Luigi will stay, but I think Ness and Jiggs are gone

Wow, you're missing out...Anyways, Ness was really good. His yo-yo was actually really awesome, and since meteor smashes didn't have start-up lag, you could easily abuse it and perform combos. He was, I think, #3 in the tiers (Kirby was #2, and Pikachu was #1). He was greatly nerfed in SSBM, but he's still really awesome if you take the time to learn his combos. Seriously, he's better than most people think, but they don't have the patience to figure this out. They just use the bat, as you mentioned...

Ganondorf has more possibilities for new moves than Captain Falcon, he owns a sword, probably delaying him, cause Sakurai doesn't want to reveal all the veteran characters, one under half have been revelaed from Melee, maybe he just wants to wait, maybe he will be the next veteran announced. Ness, I am not sure, there is differences between him and Ness, but A LOT of similarities, I do hope he will be back. Jigglypuff, honestly I think that she will return, but I honestly think that she will AGAIN be unlockable, therefore I don't think Sakurai will announce her. Luigi I think they are gonna give him a little bit of an overhaul, I think that the inclusion of the F.L.U.D.D. is trying to differenciate the Mario Bros. so I think that they are gonna change Luigi (and include the poltergeist), also I think he will again be unlockable, so same as Jigglypuff.
