As a huge game history buff, I'd have to go with Power Glove - it's probably the most well known NES accessories that barely sees the light of day. It would be a great way to accomplish the dream of a playable Master Hand by borrowing a few moves from Crazy Hand and itself, as well as play homage to the goofier elements of the NES era.

It would require a rather out-of-left-field partnership with Mattel to get the rights, but a guy can dream, right? Anyone else have something similar?

I would have to go with Moge-ko. Anyone who's familiar with Mogeko Castle knows exactly why she's "off-the-wall". For those who don't... it starts with "tor" and ends with "ture".

I have some surprising choices

Bio-Rex as a new F-Zero character, Dark Bowser as an Echo-Fighter for Bowser (instead of Dry Bowser, as he will be better as an alternate costume), Lugia being one of the new playable Pokémon, you know, but here are 2 majorly twisted choices

A playable Peckish Aristocrab (since we have :ultpiranha:), why not

The other being the player creature from E.V.O: The Search for Eden (in his mammal form) (it's a game made by Square Enix for Super Nintendo)

The plants from Plants vs Zombies would be an option, but as an item you can use, just like pokeball Pokémon and Assist Trophies

Master Hand
- Smash is the biggest Nintendo franchise without a character on the roster
- There's already a load of material for a moveset (you'd obviously have to tone it down a bit and shrink him, though)
- Everyone who plays Smash, unless they deliberately avoid single player content, knows him
- Who wouldn't want to play as a giant ****ing hand

You can play as Master Hand already.
Only in World of Light in one level though.

True, but as you said, it's only for a short segment - and a segment that can't be replayed unlike the rest of the final part. All that section do was make me want him even more as a fully playable fighter.

Oooooh I've got something even more left field.

Any one of these Mass Effect characters:
Mordin Solus
Garrus Vakarian
Urdnot Wrex
Liara T'Soni

Or slightly more center field but also Mass Effect:
Shepard (male and female alts)

I would say Goemon from Ganbare Goemon/Mystical Ninja, but he has a Mii costume now so I wouldn't considered him far fetched now.

I would probably say Marina Liteyears from Mischief Makers.

Nights

Would also really like Edward Falcon from Power Stone but he has not been on a Nintendo platform so that would have to change.

Another arcade rep would be cool. Particularly Frogger, Paperboy, or someone from Rampage would have me excited.

a car

I'm happy as long as it's car due to the absurdity of it, and moveset potential, but if I had to choose it would be Hornet from Daytona USA who was playable in Fighters Megamix (another fighting game).
