What would your Squad Strike teams be in all the Smash Games?

I've been inspired by JazzaDawg thread about what your squad strike teams will be in Ultimate, but now I'm wondering... If this had been a feature in all of the Smash Bros games, what would your 5-man-teams have been in each of those games?

(For this next one, this is mostly unknown until I actually see how characters have changed for myself/how the newcomers play)
Ultimate -

What about you guys? It's interesting how I like characters specifically more in some games than others. I was a hardcore person in Melee, but I barely used Zelda in the following games, with only a little bit in Brawl and Smash 4. Smash 64 is a hard one since I basically only played Yoshi back then lol

I'll just say that I'll always pick regardless of game, so I'll list the four others for each game that I would pick to accompany the Yosh'ter.

My mains tend to stay pretty much the same it seems... Guess I'm kinda boring. But I'm looking forward to trying out all the characters in Ultimate to see what changes they've made, so I'm hoping that I'll end up with a few unexpected new characters to frequently play this time around.

64 - Oh my, that's a long time ago. I think I stuck with the characters I knew only. Samus was some ugly alien thing to me that I didn't touch with a 10 foot pole.


Melee - I know I used Kirby, Pikachu, and Peach a lot. Pretty sure Luigi as well. Roy was is kind of a general guess though cause I know I liked him.


Brawl - Peach and Wolf were by far my most played. I played a decent amount of Zelda and Ike. I know I took a Squirtle spell for quite awhile to. I wanted to play Olimar but I really wasn't a fan of tether recovery.


Sm4sh - The Smash I played the least, so this is more so who I tried out some. Peach is my girl and Ike is my favorite FE rep. Greninja is one of my favorite Pokemon that I killed myself using his Side B a lot. Olimar with Winged Pikmin made him enjoyable! Wii Fit Trainer and Duck Hunt interested me, but I liked the former a lot more in the end. I played the male since I figured guys would get more humiliated being stomped by him.


Ultimate - Kind of hard to tell this early on. I'm going to guess on it, but I might be far off. So I'll double the # it to cover my bases better. I can see Peach and Ike remaining veterans that I enjoy a lot. I could see Wolf making his come back. Meanwhile I'll probably want to play (no more tether!) Olimar and Wii Fit on the larger screen. (only had the 3DS version of Sm4sh) And I can see Inkling, Richter, Piranha Plant, and Incineroar taking my interest as well.

I really tried to take into consideration how the characters play in each installment. While I do value design, personality and origins, how much I play a character does ultimately come back to how much I enjoy their gameplay, so while some characters are always on my radar (Captain Falcon appears in every squad, while Puff, Samus and MK are also regulars), my preferences do fluctuate a lot from game to game.
