What will you do on 1/24/08?

Im going to go to work. Then when I finish Im going to drive to the game store, purchase a copy of the game, return home and calmly insert the disk in to my Wii. After that it's on.

Incidentally, Ill be posting info on the game. But anything I post will have a *spoilers* disclaimer in the thread. And for those who dont fear the truth, my knowledge shall be yours.

YOur playing super samsh bros. melee ur friend who has beeten the game is next to you... u just bought it and hav no idea who u hav to unlock. ur friend yells... YOU UNLOCK JIGS, LUIGI, DOC, MEW2, G&W, GANONDORF, ext. ext. ext.

I would be soooo mad....they probably wouldnt wake up in the morning...
DOnt spoil the game for urself... wait it out guys... try to hav the willpower... (im not even gonna check the dojo... i wont use anything but my AIM on the computer and use private runescape servers all day)

Figure out if Bowser Jr. is in. Thats the only spoiler I will look for. I am tempted to seek out Lucario too. But that would be better off as a surprise.

I never owned Melee until I got a Wii, and by then I had known the full roster for 5 years. I'd kind of like to unlock the characters the way God,...erm Sakurai intended.

Starting 1/24/08, I will still check the Dojo, and try to focus all of my attention on schoolwork, because starting 2/10/08, I probably won't be doing it anymore.

There's no point in reading a story if you know what's going to happen. There's EVERY point in playing a game even if you know the outcome. A game is played for gameplay. Story, music, characters, they're all secondary to great gameplay. However, characters create great gameplay. So why not enlighten yourself?

And if I got brawl RIGHT NOW and someone was beside me shouting all the secret characters I would be saying "REALLY? HOW?" I would wring this game dry of all the secrets and unlockables, and then multiplayer the heck out of it.

What does wallowing in ignorance of unlockables achieve? Just so you can have one second of your life filled with some sort of weird glee from learning a character in the stage that it was "designed" to be presented? Then I have news for all of you still on the internet today: You have been majorly spoiled by watching the Dojo.

I can't imagine someone who would treasure their ignorance so much that they would swear off the internet just to have a few moments of surprise. After that surprise is gone, all thats left is the gameplay. What does it matter where or when those moments of surprise come from? The Dojo? Japanese scans of the strategy guide? The actual game? All are fair game.

Umm... Well, since it's the Japanese release date, I'm sure tons of English-speaking Japanese will post a whole bunch of stuff on Smashboards or wherever.

I don't want to spoil myself!!!

But then I'd have to leave this place for two weeks...

...So basically, the only thing I'd use the Internet for is the DOJO!!.

I can't bear it.... SmashWiki, Smashboards... None of them for TWO WEEKS.

After debating with myself for a few months, I've finally decided that I WILL check and spoil the game for myself.

I'm going to treat it like a massive Dojo update in order to further hype me up for the U.S. release. To me the wonder when the "Warning: Challenger Approaching" screen pops up in-game won't be lost just because I know the entire roster. It'll simply be a "I wonder which one this is" kind of thing.

One thing Ive been pondering. Will it be POSSIBLE to look at the secret characters, without spoiling adventure?

I mean, if I look for the characters on Smashboards, I might find many threads about characters, but then aain, before I find these character threads, i might find one that reads "OMG MASTER HAND IS IN CHARGE OF THE SUBSPACE ARMY!!!!!1111one...two" or "OMG MARIO KILLS EVERYONE IN SUBSPACE! VIDEO INSIDE!!" if these things are true, its been spoiled for me when I didnt want it to be spoiled.

Hopefully Ill get lucky, and find a thread only about secret characters before I see one about subspace and my life is ruined =(

I'll be finding out every spoiler and reporting it on my site. I was debating on whether or not I wanted to know the SSE, but I guess I'll prety much have to.

I wouldn't be abel to go two weeks without wanting to know all that stuff anyway. I'd be happy right now if I learned every single thing in Brawl.

Hong Kong gets games WAY early than us.
Probably the roster will be known on the 21st, but around the 15th we should get Famitsu's review(THEY HAVE TO GIVE 40/40 to Brawl, they gave it to Nintendogs!)
