I feel like if I were to be active again, I would have to walk on pins and needles to avoid offending someone.
This is kind of a hotbutton topic for me so I'll give another disclaimer for some people before I make a post, look away if you cant take "MEAN WURDZ!"
Depends on where and who you play with. Most people wont care, because they've grown past words being something that they even give a **** about. But, for the few that are sensitive ( LGBT in the community, SJW's, or people who bring arguments/agendas/sensitivity from tumblr) You'll probably really have to watch what you say for the sake of being ostricized and outed from the community so they dont have to feel hurt by words.
Oh! Oh! and god forbid you call them out on that because they'll never shut up about it either, and they will just mirror it back at you like it does something with a "YEA HOW DOES IT FEEL" attitude.
In all honesty, I dont personally have a problem avoiding those words myself, It's not a big issue for me because I simply don't give a crap either way. The thing that DOES bug me is people with no mental maturity to face constructive criticism (Above mentioned SJW's and facebook princess daddy's girls) who cant stand it when they're called out on their hypersensitive bullcrap. The world and what people say
does NOT revolve around your feelings, you NEED to grow THICKER SKIN and realize the world is a harsh and mean place JUST AS MUCH as people should slowly change their ways. You cant simply walk up to someone on the street saying insensitive stuff and demand they stop, then get punched in the eye, then go whine about it on the internet all the time. Sometimes you gotta be the BETTER PERSON and just walk away.
I am by no means saying that you should be made fun of or singled out for your sexual preference or gender, nor am I suggesting problems do not exist, but by god stop whining like everything in the world is out to get you. Think with common sense, not your emotions and stop with the gigantic victim complex.
in b4 thought policing.
tl;dr version:
People brought outside influences and ways of thinking into the community. People of those mindsets came into positions to influence change in the community and that's whats happening. Be politically correct or be outed.
