I wasn't sure whether this would evolve into a guide or not, so I've decided to not add the prefix...

What should I, and folks new to SSB in general, know about when playing as Samus?

Theres already a thread for this dude.

All Samus related questions should be asked here.
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=224928 I'm sure the community will happily help you out in whatever way possible.

If you wanna get better at playing samus take a look threw the ultimate samus guide when ya have the time. http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=185822

All character forums have threads like these. Check em out before ya go making threads like this next time. =w=
I figured the latter thread was for expert players, like you

One thing that isn't really mentioned in the guides is that you need quite a bit of patience while learning and playing as Samus, she's low tier for a reason unfortunately. She is a very fun character but she also has a steep learning curve and can be very draining to use in tougher matchups so just be aware of that.
