Over the years I've seen many different player tags. One of them that I had a question about was, "ーにニシ". I have seen it several times, still don't understand.

The origin of how he got is name is:
Once MaNg0 was playing Counter-Strike in 5th grade and he entered his name as, "I want a mango". Then it stuck, and and now he's Mango.

And now I wish I didn't know Japanese, since I never would of got the meaning until I read the description (I was expecting it to be nininiko for the box).

Backstory behing the box tag (に二二コ):
There was a Smasher who lived in Washington called, "Gimpyfish" who was a famous Bowser player. South California only heard of him, but a few people from there met him at some tournaments. Later on he moved to South California for school. Then is around September of 2007 the box tag first heard about. He said that when him and one of his old teammates would play in teams, he would have the box tag and his friend would have a, "...." tag. Whenever their opponents were not on the stage, they would try to fit the dots inside the box. After that Mango used it and it just grew from there.

This may be dumb thinking, but I also always thought that since California is one of the few states where mangoes are grown, he is in a way showing state pride. He is known to be proud to be a Californian and west coaster.

I would like to know where Leffen got his actual name.
Also:

Chillindude use "XICR" because thats a name he made up for RPG characters as a kid.

PC Chris - "PC" is obviously a reference to Port Chester, NY, as is his name.

DJ Nintendo uses the YUNA tag. Not sure if its in reference to the European Peach player or the Final Fantasy character. DJ is a fan of RPG's.

Borp's name comes from a shortened version of the word "probably" spelled backwords.
PROB -> BORP

Darkrain often uses the AB tag. No idea why. Same goes for "DOOM" from S2J.
