Made in conjunction with the thread What beta and 1P stages could've been playable in Vs. mode. (Smash 64)

What if during the development of Super Smash Bros. (N64) Masahiro Sakurai decided to add some of the Beta or 1-player Characters (& Alternate Costumes) to Multi-player mode. They would all be accessible on the character select screen in addition to the already available Multi-player characters and all glitches such as freezing, bad spawn locations, inaccurate controller buttons, etc. would be patched/ fixed for Vs. mode, 1P mode, and training mode use. Which of the following Beta or 1-player characters would you like to have playable in multi-player mode?

List of already playable characters:
Here's a list of all already playable characters and their alternate costumes:

- Mario :mario64:

- Luigi :luigi64:

- Donkey Kong :dk64:

- Link :link64:

- Samus :samus64:

- Yoshi :yoshi64:

Note: The 1P Yoshi Team uses two additional Non-playable alternate costumes, Pink and Indigo.

- Kirby :kirby64:

- Fox :fox64:

- Pikachu :pikachu64:

- Captain Falcon :falcon64:

- Ness :ness64:

- Jigglypuff :jigglypuff64:
Beta Dragon King: The Fighting Game characters:
- Dragon King: The Fighting Game (格闘ゲーム竜王, Kakuto-Gēmu Ryūō) characters
Note: Not much is known about these characters. These are the only known images of the game. Some players have speculated that these characters are an early version of the Captain Falcon model.

Planned Beta Characters:
- Mewtwo :mewtwomelee:
Note: it's unknown whether Mewtwo had any work done on him.

Here's what Mewtwo's model may have looked like in Smash 64: April Fools! Project M for Nintendo 64.
Scrapped Beta Characters:
- King Dedede :dedede:

- Bowser :bowsermelee:
Note: According to an interview with Miyamoto, Bowser was in the game at least at November 1998. Therefore, he was cut shortly late into development.

Here's what Bowser's model may have looked like in Smash 64: April Fools! Project M for Nintendo 64.
Non-playable 1P Mode characters:
- Giant Donkey Kong :dk64:

- Metal Mario

Note: Metal Mario Is a separate character from Mario because his weight, strength, mobility, stats, etc. are different classifying him more as a clone character instead of an alternate costume. Although his model could be used as an alternate costume.

- Master Hand

Note: Although Master Hand doesn't move around and act like a normal character he is still technically classified as one.
Non-Playable Alternate Costumes:
- Yoshi Team pink & blue alternate costumes

Note: The 1P Yoshi Team uses two additional non-playable alternate costumes, Pink and Indigo.

- Fighting Polygon Team character alternate costumes
Note: These are essentially non-playable alternate costumes because they function the exact same as their character counterparts.

- Character Hitbox alternate costumes:

Rumored Beta Characters:
These characters were not included in the poll because they are most likely untrue.

- Sigurd
It's rumored that Sigurd from the Fire Emblem series was planned for Smash 64. This unfounded rumor is most likely untrue.

- Meowth
It's rumored that Meowth from the Pokémon series was planned for Smash 64, but he was scrapped in favor of Jigglypuff. This is most likely untrue. It's worth noting that there is a rare chance of getting a Mew from a poké ball item in Super Smash Bros. (64).

- Pit :pit:
It's rumored that Pit from the Kid Icarus series was planned for Smash 64, but dropped because they couldn’t get his wings working. This is most likely untrue.
Other:
- Final Smash were planned for Smash 64.
- Beta character select screen:

- Item Characters:
- Bob-omb

- Poké Ball characters:
Note: These characters are 2D 16 bit animations.
- Charizard
- Blastoise
- Beedrill
- Clefairy
- Meowth
- Onix
- Hitmonlee
- Koffing
- Chansey
- Goldeen
- Starmie
- Snorlax
- Mew

Please let me know if I missed any characters.

Many of these characters and alternate costumes would've been really cool if they were included in the game, but sadly they weren't... If only someone could include these characters into the game through a modification. "HINT" "HINT"

Wow that was amazing and fun to read! I loved it! The way you put the ics precisely, the character icons, everything. Nice work man

@Jorgasms hey yo check this out, maybe you can some how make some of these things come true, btw the reason metal mario crashes normally after a match is because he has no victory animation, so maybe some how we can help you with that? (Remember add me on Skype, I wanna help as much as possible :) )

you know, if bowser was in late in development, don't you think the announcer would have his bowser voice clips still lurking in the game's code? makes me curious

The interview states that Bowser will be in the game, meaning he was planned. There's no indication that Bowser was actually in the game at any point of development.
