I’m 14, is it appropriate for me or anyone below my age to go to tournaments?

What age is appropriate for attending tournaments?

Absolutely, all ages are welcome at most tournaments unless they are held in a place minors can't enter (EX: a bar) people are usually very welcoming to all ages although the TO may want kids that are too young to have an adult. You should be fine alone at 14 as long as you act maturely.
Generally things are pretty fine, it's always best to still play it safe. Make sure you parents know where you are, arrange to meet them afterwards/call in, go with a friend, ect. But generally there's not much of a "Woah, you're too young, go away" attitude. From my own experiences, the younger kid usually gets the cheers behind them.
