Wartortle and Bulbasaur as alternative skins within the Pokémon Trainer

I think it would be interesting to have the option to choose Wartortle and Bulbasaur as alternative skins within the Pokémon Trainer since these characters have a similar size and physical type.

What do you think?

Bulbasaur and Wartortle are different sizes, so it'd result in an echo fighter.

If we're going to have an echo fighter, let's go all the way for Blastoise

And replace Charizard for Dragonite since they too are similar.

I cannot see the Pokemon Company allowing this.

Past words from them and Sakurai read to me as indication that they want each Pokemon to feel as unique as one fighter from the other- to really stand out as a species.

Wartortle is my favorite Gen 1 Pokemon, so I'd be really excited to play as one in any capacity!

I'm also a fan of dragonite being an echo fighter. Replace flair blitz with dragon rush, flame thrower for dragon breath, and his down tilt for dragon tail. Everything else can stay the same.
