termage?

thank you 3God, but can u explain what all the terms mean?

I dont know what the different stun times refer to exactly.
specifically, shield hit lag and shield lag. are u referring to opponent or wario?

and what do you mean by advantage exactly?
I apologize if i sound dumb, but those are new to me.

Also i was wondering if you would reccommend or discuss the findings for strategy. For example, to me, b-air isnt as bad as i thought it was, and fair isnt as good as i thought it was as far as lag time.

Lastly, I find Up-B underused. It is fast as the dickens and 90% i dont really get punished for using it. +it hits for big time damage.

Thank you, your work makes better warios :)

What do you use to get frame data? Just curious.
Capture video with a lossless codec. Deinterlace it and count frames in Virtual Dub. There is a topic about it in the Videography forum I think (made by hotgarbage). It's a tedious process.

Total = the total number of frames before a move can be interrupted (some people call this IASA)
Shield hit lag = how much lag Wario experiences when he hits a shield
Shield stun = the amount of stun the shielding character experiences
Advantage = the number of frames Wario can move before the shielding character
Note: Negative advantage indicates that the opponent can move before Wario.

The main things I take from this are...Uair and Dair are really good...which we already knew, but now we have numbers to back it up. Also it's clear that Nair is really good at hitting spot-dodgers, and rolling is slow and bad.

Thats perfect, now I've got my data to beat people with, and I can match it up with MK's, see if I can punish MK. You forgot one thing though...

MK's Ftilt is faster than everything we have in our arsenal... and I think his up b is four frames too... we obv need to start dash attacking into them, but wait, he gets invince frames >_>

No, you just need to punish them when they do have lag... trust me MK DOES LAG lol. BARELY, but he does.

Anyone who wants proof should ask me how many times I shielded Dojo's retreating Fair and hit him with an fair of my own before he landed. :)

DMG, I know, you don't have to tell me. I know plenty well how to vs MKs. It's just annoying having to wait for fairs or dairs, lol.

I dont really see how this info helps. i would have to study all the other characters Frame Rates so i know what moves i have that are faster/slower than theirs. Any one want to explain how this data could help my wario? I may have one idea, is it to see the priority levels of the moves, because then i could see how. or maby just to have "good moves" backed by actual data?

Attack speed is important.

If you're a nut like me, it helps gauge if a grab release is possible.

All this frame information makes me wonder what grab releases would actually work. It would be sweet delicious irony if Wario got to use grab releases on the rest of the cast. (Since Wario grabs high, he can force jump breaks on many characters, making him viable for this sort of testing.)

If you guys want, I can test all this for you. But only if you're interested. I don't want to waste my time like I did with Sonic.

Lol, is that a serious question? Of course we're interested! You'd be my hero if you found something :) Please test

That would be great MrEh, Also, I think I've found a weird smash cancel thing for Bowser, I can share it with you if you want. (That and momentum cancel.)

The grab release tricks I know of are free DACUS on MK and free forward smash on ness. Then theres the stuff you can do to fellow wario players but that is like the forbidden fruit.

DACUS on MK is only good if they don't expect it or at low percents, and easier to set up with a bite anyway. The Fsmash on Ness isn't even guaranteed b/c of EIDI... but you can regrab/bite them if they try to shield anyway.

I don't usually test, I just fthrow XD Would be neat if we had followups, but I doubt it as we don't come equipped with that much range.

Hop to it, MrEh!

And it shall be done. You can expect results as early as tonight. Latest in a couple of days.

Also, expect guaranteed Wafts one some members of the cast. I'm not kidding.

Only character wario gets a guaranteed waft on is himself. I don't see how you could do it on any other character....
