I've noticed there has been threads from people who want to see both Ashley from wario ware and both waluigi in brawl. But say if only one could make it into the roster. Who do you think has the better chances and the better fanbase?

Though I have a feeling neither would make it in Brawl but I've been thinking though earlier I didn't care to see Waluigi in brawl but now that I think about it would help better Waluigi's popurlarity if he was in and I think that might be a pretty good thing seeing how the only games he's ever been in are mario party's, mario sports games, and Mario Karts. He's never really had a chance to be in game like this. As for ashley I think it would be a pretty good add on to the female roster but....maybe not for this Super Smash Bros.(maybe next time in a smash bros. years from now if anybody still remembers her)

What do you think?(And don't attack me for the ashley remark,She has potiental but I'd rather see Waluigi finally get some recognition.

VERY SORRY DIDNT MEAN TO BUMP THIS THREAD PLEASE INGORE AND DONT COMMENT ON HOW HE IS DECONFIRMED BECAUSE I ALREAY KNOW THAT I DIDNT MEAN TO BUMP THIS THREAD. I MEANT TO POST ON MY FINAL SMASH THREAD. PLEASE INGORE!!!!!!!!!!

Waluigi definetly has a better chance. Wario and Waluigi are like Mario and Luigi.

Firstly, yes, I support Ashley 100%. Realistically... I don't really think she has a shot. However I really don't think Waluigi does either, and this is coming from someone who ALWAYS picked him in Mario Party/Kart just because of his incredibly unique 'design', if you will. As for who has better chances... well...

Ashley's only featured in two games, but in those two games she wasn't directly more or less important, or filler for that matter. She was on fairly even ground with all the other characters except for Wario, and *possibly* Mona however she may cause problems. Considering Mona's a veteran of the WarioWare series whilst Ashley came in during Touched! as well as the fact that Mona *has* been seen as Wario's love interest give her precedence over Ashley in terms of role. Then again Sakurai tends to like obscure and odd characters, not necessarily those who are important to their franchises.

Waluigi seems to have quite a 'hate' of sorts, which is unfortunate. The only antagonistic role he's had was in that Mario DDR game, which is hardly held together by a plotline at all. Problem is though he's just filler, never really seemed like he was intended to have a larger role than that. I mean he was CREATED for a spin-off game to BE filler, not just picked out of the existing line-up to serve as filler. I really don't see a character who was born to be filler become anything more than that.

Anyway quick summary of what I think...

Ashley:
-Fairly level playing ground in terms of importance except for Mona, however the franchise doesn't seem like it will be *heavily* repped.
-Female, but that's only a minor point.
-Magic user, something we don't *really* have except for Zelda's shiny stilleto kicks.
-Relatively new to her franchise.

Waluigi:
-Born to be filler, essentially, which is a downside. Daisy's situation doesn't help either, honestly I'd be expecting a purple and black colour swap for Luigi.
-Could be thought of as important in one sense in that he would complete the "set"; the brothers and their "evil" doppelgangers.
-More games than Ashley, however they're spinoffs.

Honestly, in terms of likiness, I'm tempted to actually say Waluigi for some reason. I don't know why exactly, but when I run it through my head I see him having a bigger shot than Ashley. I like both characters, and personally I see as Ashley sort of representing more, but yeah. I wouldn't get my hopes high for either of em though (*sigh* I like them both anyway, drat :p)

Sorry for the wall of text >.> I tend to ramble a bit.

Ashley has better chances. Maybe she hasn't better chances, but she would be a better character.

Waluigi is a filler and Ashley has something that no character has.

She fight with her little devil Red (some people says after PT's update that Ashley is in Brawl, because they would name PT Red. ... no sense)
She uses magic and can transform her little devil into a wand or other things.

Well, I think neiter Ashley nor Waluigi will be in Brawl, but I hope for Ashley.

Ashley > Waluigi

EDIT:
they are both useless filler characters.
Ashley was never a filler char.

Waluigi has sadly more chance of turning up as an Assist Trophy than Ashley, though there's no reason why she can't.

Honestly? Without knowing how Sakurai feels, there's no way to work out which one has more chance than the other.

No offense to anyone who likes him, but I never want to see Waluigi in Brawl at all, if I had my way. He's just lame-o filler. Trust me, I'd say the same thing about Wario seveal years back before the Wario Ware games came out, when all he was was a fat, yellow and evil version of Mario. Oh, sure, he had a Virtual Boy game and some other stuff on the Gameboy, but I always felt like Nintendo was just making second-rate platformers with a Mario look-alike to try and make quick cash-in titles. Even their names are similar.

If Wario used to kinda lame, then I think by extension a lame-o version of Luigi is even more obscure.

With the advent of Wario Ware, though, Nintendo showed me that they were trying to do something completely new and exciting with this relatively obscure character. Wario came to be known for something other than riding on Mario's popularity.

Waluigi's biggest accomplishment was being in that annoying ABOMINATION: DDR Mario Mix. I cringe just thinking about it. The only time I thought the guy was anything more than garbage was in Mario Kart, since all he had to do was drive.

Ashley is part of Wario Ware. Though she also is just a name and a face, so to speak, she at least is a unique character model. That is to say, she doesn't wear Mario's hat and suspenders. She has no true story or reason for being in the games she is in, other than "variety's sake." She is, however, rather charming.

I like the idea of a witch character with spells and whatnot in Brawl. It's something completely new and exciting as far as Smash fighting styles go, so even if the only Nintendo-made magic user of note is some random gothic lolita in a red dress, hey, that's fine by me.

I don't think either of them have really deserved a spot in brawl

Waluigi: filler character at the moment

Ashley: one of several WW characters and hasn't even been in all the games

The number of games someone has been in has nothing to do with how they get in Smash Brothers AT ALL.

Pit.
Samus in Smash Bros. 64.
Jigglypuff.
Roy.
Shiek.

etc.

I'd say a good third of the characters tend to be fairly underdeveloped or exclusive in nature.

That said, yes, Ashley doesn't really fit for any reason other than people are interested in her play style and visual flair. People aren't exactly falling all over her because of nostalgia or her "awesome" backstory, etc.

Waluigi's not gonna be in there, since All i've heard from Charles (Mario's voice actor) is that he's gonna be voicing Mario, Luigi, and Wario. And I know he also does the voice of Waluigi.

I like to use waluigi on games because people despise him so much its funny to win with him!!.

Ashley is much more cooler than him, not to mention her possible moveset would be so original

thats enough for me to go for her.

I don't understand how Waluigi can be so popular, he's one of the most pointless recolour filler characters I've ever seen. Plus he doesn't even have a good name. Ruigi would have been a better name. Absolutely no thought went into creating him.

Like I said before both have potinetal but I think if they actually gave waluigi a good and some how unique move set in all then he'd be good and besides he wouldn't be copying wario in any way because wario has the wario ware outfit that makes him different than waluigi. But if he was actually a good brawler to fight with I say yes than maybe he can be seen as more than just a filler character. Then maybe in the future after brawl's release there can finally be a wario and waluigi game maybe I'm thinking to far ahead but that'd be interesting if they did make one.

If any other Wario character makes it, I personally hope it's Mona. She's older than Ashley (i.e. more suited to the game) & she has more jobs than Mario, so she could probably be a fighter. She's seen in a sort of martial arts robe in one of the chapters from Smooth Moves. You never know ^^;

But realistically, I don't think any of them will make it.

I see Waluigi with more chances since he is a bit more main than Ashley. But I hope Ashley gets in.

honestly, they both suck and dont deserve to be in brawl. ashley deserves to be in wario ware and waluigi deserves to be in one of the millions of mario party games.

I know Wario and WaLuigi are real close, but I feel like Waluigi is a much smaller character. Ashley is nice (not very original), but Brawl could use someone like her.

>_>; Lol i thought that you meant because wario was repping warioware that it stops any more characters from that game to be getting in... Yeah so umm... just run along... *hides*
No, it meant that because Wario is repping WarioWare then obviously a second rep would come from that series, thus Ashley, now where is Waluigi found in WarioWare? Oh yeah, NOWHERE!
