Need to ask this...

Why do people think that THE Mario series is over populating the roster?

You got Mario, DK, Wario and Yoshi

Yet people want Ashley, Mona, the twins, Vivian and Dixie and people complain about the over populating rule?

Paper Mario impacts the main Mario series, as evidenced by the Star Spirits in Mario Party 4 or 5 (the one with the tank fights.) Because of this I believe they'd be under the Mushroom insignia.

Thank you, forgot about the mario parties cause after the 3 one they started to go down hill...IMO.

Well I thought mario party 4 and 5 were decent but then got Six and I realized "Hey they're not changing very much". So I stopped getting them.

I wonder if Vivian will appear in another game......I hope so, she's a really cool character....I think I might search for my copy of the thousand year door and play it again.

Thats the thing you have to respect about Nintendo once the partners are in 1 game and have developed character wise they stop using them, like the pas FF games except for 7 (most of the games after are just to explain personaly back story) and sequels like FFX2

Unless you want Goombario down to Ms. Mowz to be in Mario Party Filler like Waluigi, no thank you.

Well Mario is a silent protagonist. In any of the games in the last 20 something years has he ever shown his own actions? No you controll what he does or someone has persuaded him to do a action like Mallow or Peach or Toad. Yoshi i dont know.

Same here about the PM and Brawl part.

Vivian has everything Sakurai wants in a character: Female, looks unique and has a lot of potential for a moveset, the only thing she doesn't have is votes from that poll he made

But I'm sure if he wants to put her in, she's in regardless of the poll.

Anyone have ideas for possible alternate outfits for Vivian?

I'm thinking:

Green hair and Red hat, that would be a good one for christmas.
White hair with a completly black hat, Make her look like a witch.

Well Vivian doesn't need legs to actually move......but I'm more worried that she's stuck to the ground in the paper mario games.......I'm sure the developers could figure something out

Her body could detach from her...bottom part maybe?

I don't really know but the developers would have the know how to do it I'm sure

And her Final Smash should be summoning her sisters and launch an ambush or to make some sort of shadow blast or black hole that acts like a magnet and repeatedly damage anything in contact.

Paper MArio is Mario as Paper so Mushroom symbol unless Miyamoto says otherwise

I'd rather not see anyone from Paper Mario, especially not a partner. Her possible moveset is no more original than any other Paper mario character, so why her? Hopefully we won't be seeing any more transvestites after Zelda/Sheik from Melee.

I have nothing against the series, but if one out of place Paper mario character somehow manages to appear in a fighting game 3D characters, there's not much basis behind it being Vivian in particular other than "people like her!"

Well Vivian was in sakurai's poll and before you say that means nothing, it does, Sakurai must have some preference for her if she was the only paper mario partner in the poll.

Plus your arguement against her cause she's 2D is silly, Mr. game and watch is 2D aswell!

Uh well I registered this thread as the vivian support thread on the sticky character support thread list.

Besides I don't see why there can't be two vivian threads, after all there must be about at least 5 different Geno or Megaman support threads.

Also I'm updating the first post today, I'll tidy it up a bit and add some more pictures

Actually no there has always been 1 Geno thread, not sure of the others.

Well Sakurai has been showing an interest in having more female fighters so....that boosts her chances.

Things going for her:

1.Sakurai Showing interest in more female fighters
2.She would be a unique fighter
3.Was on Sakurai's poll
4.Is possibly the most memorable paper mario partner.

Things against her:
1.Not very popular


That's all I can see anyway....

i know people who dont even got the game and they are fans of her(im not one of em)

I think this will happen...I've seen so many people supporting Ridley/Geno I actually started to think they should be in (I have nothing against them by the way, I'm neutral about them) even though I hadn't played any metroid games and prefered Mallow over Geno. I think there may be too much Hype over some characters and not enough on others.

Actually a far greater chance. Vivian isn't on a Square-Enix leash. Geno is.

I added Vivian's support Icon to the main page if anyone wants to use it, just make sure you click on the link under the icon and copy from the address bar instead of just copying the link Because the Link doesn't show all of the Code under vivian's icon.
