Hey Ponco,
May I ask you for your GC controller setup? I love the way you execute your moves and as a person who has just switched to the GC controller I'd be super interested in knowing how you perform those so good.

Thanks in advance!
Ah sadly I play on the Wii u pro controller

I switched to the GC one because some tournaments don't allow the pro ones due to them being wireless.

May I ask you for your controls setup anyways? I'd love to see what controls do you change from defaults and how do you perform aerials in general.

Thanks in advance!

I set L to shield, R to grab, C-stick to normal attacks, and I personally use Z for jump in addition to X and Y on my GC.

Recently participated in a mini-tournament vs a good Canadian Luigi. He ended up winning the set, but I loved this comeback ^-^

I just wanted to play Villager, I have a lot of pride for both of my characters and want to prove my Villager is good too so I don't always want to just stick with diddy
I highly respect that, as I too am a Villager main. I struggle in the Cpt. Falcon MU lately for reasons posed in your video here against Fatality. His Falcon is imo without question the best rn. Saw him play against ZeRo and them at Smash con this past weekend and he was holding his own weight. You were doing some tricky things to him like FF Nair setups at low % to jab> Ftilt. I need to do things like that. I also notice you using DTilt on the edge which I always thought to use but just never have to cover his recovery once you threw out two FSMASHED that didn't connect. Smart stuff. One last thing is riding the Lloyd into the stage upon one's recovery. I saw you try that as well. I first saw aMSa do that and it's such a great strat. Thanks man. I'll be analyzing these vids.

Hello, I was really hoping I can get my villager critiqued, I have been playing villager for a while but I now feel like I'm in a rut and don't know what to improve on even though I know I'm not good. I have two videos here both are pretty short:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4P3tjclV3Qc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqH9c0R8c7A
I don't think you should call yourself a rut (you're probably better than me). The main thing I saw in your videos was that half of the times you were KO, it was because you got punished from using a dash attack. In the Ganondorf video, I feel like you did really good at spacing and you grabbed at the right moments. I think you could have won, it was just you were in the wrong place at the wrong time when you got KO. In the Robin video, I felt like the Robin was just really good, like you didn't make any big mistake, the Robin just outplayed you. For a next step you could start to incorporate more of the tree into your game play. So for the most part you're doing a great job, keep up the good work and explore the Villager boards a bit more and learn more!

I made my r button jump. It's easier for me to perform fast aerials

I just had 2 really interesting things happen to me, I used the water can to completely freeze Toon Link during down air, and combo it into tree, then a moment later attacked my own tree to kill Toon Link for an epic ending send him flying off screen. 12 second video

Just flashy Villager play :]
HOLY **** I added you. we have to play some dittos bruh lol... Question about your Oos Nairs are you doing them the same way most of us execute rising Fairs, and Bairs? I.E. by rolling your thumb over :GCY: :GCA:?

It seems more like your probably doing em the way I do. With a shoulder button set to jump and the c - stick set to Aerials and its literally L and a right diagonal on the C Stick. Comes out faster and you can control your aerial space while and before you even preform the Nair without worrying about doing a Bair or Fair instead even though your holding the stick at a position other than neutral.

EDIT: Was just testing it in training and i dunno why I didn't realize until just now you could jump out of shield from standing position even though I was Up Bing Oos as early back as my ZSS main days lol.... so the rolling option is faster. I just started jump canceling aerials so it will take a bit more muscle memory before I'm as slippery as you.

Somethings I notice from you I'll be incorporating immediately... some of which I never even thought of.

Those empty backwards jumps as a mind game? Scary and trollish I love it lol.

The b - reverse for momentum and mixups.

Are you on the ladder? Anyway good stuff man and would love to play you soon and pick up some tech and get some tips. I'm an aggro player myself.

Whats up Villagers! Its been a damn long time huh? I've finally got some nice chances to upload some tournament footage goodness! I got some more from Nebulous that are still coming along the way, but for now, most of these are from this NJ tournament I went to called the break weekly! Check em out, I even get to play an LoF crew member!

I'll also be streaming in a couple of hours so be sure to tune in if you're free!

Are shoulder button c-stick aerials really faster than X --> A? I seem to do just fine with that method.

Depends honestly with the shoulder button your rising aerials automatically get the max jump height so it situational. I get more hits off it after the first jump tbh like following and opponent in the air just feels way easier to follow people in the air when both your hands are already primed to react without actually having to move them.

Usually left index finger is resting on left shoulder button or L by default and right thumb on c stick its perfect for your hands / villagers imo.

Any thoughts on my Villager? I died to bad DI and a bait.
Also please don't watch my Bowser Jr. after that match, I did really really bad because my internet started to act up again.

So I've been playing a lot of smash bros since smash 4 came out. I've progressed really far (or so I feel like I have.)
If you have any suggestions so I could better improve my play, let me know :)

Anyways, the stream cutout so game 2&3 of grands were streamed here

My tag in game is Mtn.
There was another villager named Rylus, he won connecticon or something. I beat him 2-1 in villy dittos, 3-2 overall (he switched to olimar)
I really wanted to find that set since it was hype, but its not on their broadcasts

Are you proud...

I did horrid the first match because I hadn't played Smash in 1-2 weeks. The second match I died to some weird thing with Battlefield, and yes I was pressing left to try and get out.
Any advice with my gameplay?

Here's a best of 3 friendly customs set I did against another player. I personally have a hard time against Mario and I really messed up at the end of the first match. My punishes weren't on point at the time unfortunately. I feel like my pressure with Villager was at least pretty good. Any critique would be much appreciated.
