And for the UpB Oos I tried to avoid of being grabbed but It wasn't the best solution.
Also I agree I have to grab much more but I'm really bad for grabbing I miss a lot x)

Well yeah it's kinda weird as it's totally opposite to what usually happens. Pretty much every other situation you become slower (the ledge, grabbed and stuff), but not shieldbreak.
I think the reason is that at higher % you will pretty much die anyways so no reason to give you the time to charge a smash at all I think.

There were lots of times where you should've used dair. Wario can beat dair with uair but only if he is in the position to space it well enough. Whenever you're both in the air and he wifs a move or something, dair him, don't try to bair or nair him. If you watch my matches I spam dair a lot, which is definitely a bad thing, but I do get a lot of damage from it, so if you use it with moderation the pay offs will be great.

Oh and vs wario in general, upB OoS is really good.

Thanks Alphicans, you're da bess :)
I always tend to avoid dairing too much since it seems like "noob" move to use a lot. Stupid mindsets >_>

There's a reason it was used in the early brawl metagame a **** load lol. Remember that nothing is a noob move if you're being successful with it. Maybe the opponent could deal with it better, but until then use what works.

I guess that's right. No matter how weak or "nooby" the tactic is, I should abuse it as long as I can :)
I'll see what I can do tomorrow when I get to play again.

I was too afraid to even click those links since my mind could be blown.
Don't worry, I will watch them later, though I don't think I can give you a critique when you are much better than me :)

Regarding Game 1 of loser finals. The first minute you messed up about three times. Bucket isnt worth it early. Getting grabbed at 0 sucks. Unloading bucket when falco isnt at lethal is pointless (or when you are near lethal). The whole game you got grabbed at low percents. it sucks so much. i find being aggressive is helpful, as long as you dont get baited into falcos attacks. its tricky, but doable.

Where the heck are these tourneys? I will show up and school you guys. Watching entire thing now.

EDIT: You guys are not aggressive enough.

EDIT2: the use of pull grenade, wait til you reach bottom, explode = really bad tactic. it limits your options. try and avoid it.

EDIT3: Nice use of "shrinking camera" to kill your opponent on last stock game 1. So many people cant tech if the camera is zoomed in too far.

EDIT4: Don't be noob.

EDIT5: Game 3 didnt happen.

I'm just trolling around lol
Haven't lost a Duelist game the last two tournies.

The grenade holding thing is merely to avoid racking up damage too quickly, if trouble shows up I'll throw it away and react accordingly.

My idol has spoken. Do you guys even play Duelist anymore? It was the highlight of your channel :p

I've got another one from summer:

I think I'm still undefeated in tourney/MM duelist games. Get at me =O

Not. Worth. It.

Sometimes. We play if for fun, like playing old school nes games for 30min-1hr. duelist is just like a big minigame that has a lot of potential for skill improvement and stuff. There are SO MANY THIGNS you can do you'd never think of. It's insane.

Plus, if you get good at duelist, I guarantee you're brawl game will be improved, especially in teams.

Duelist is amazing.
Yes, I agree

Yep, every time I see a Snake fail at recovering with the C4 is just yell "where's your Duelist skills!?" or "I thought we trained for this!"

Holding a grenade is worth it when there's no danger closeby. Worth. It.

You started off with way too much fair and way too little nair, but fixed it during the middle of the first game. So cudos for that. I noticed that you almost never use up b outside of recovery, and maybe I'm just overusing this move myself, but I think you should pick up on using up b out of shield and as a follow-up attack after nair-strings..... as long as you're a bit careful

I don't have too many things to say about the set against Ike because I suck against him, but I've noticed that doing it 2008-style (bair bair bair) works surprisingly well, but this might also be because the Ikes I've faced aren't on that level.

Ike left himself vulnerable on the ledge plenty of times, I think you should've gone for dash attack stagespike a couple of times, or at least dtilt/dsmash, because Ike's recovery is very limited, and those moves would but him in a really bad spot.

Those are my terrible tips.

BTW: No tips about my playstyle from all of those videos I posted? I got a small portion about one game from zac, but that's mostly it. I want to improve, so it would help a lot if you guys commented on things I should take note of :)

Bump!

I started playing G&W again and have some glaring bad habits, lol. But I do feel better with him then before.
Usually when I do stupid things it's because I don't know what I should have done instead so if whoever critiques me would say the better option as well as my mistake that would help.
Pick whatever replay(s) you want to critique. Thanks:).

Wario

Gardex - in regards to your match against Marth - You did really amazing, I wont say I am nearly that good, but I did notice two things that might have put you at an advantage.

You could definitely use way more chef. I know the move seems nubile and lame, but especially against marth I have found it really effective. Generally Marth players come in attacking from a forward air position. A stream of bacon will stop that really quickly, also often they will land and come charging in and misjudge the potency of the high priority frying pan which does an additional 9 damage. All in all I feel like chef is highly underrated.

Also, maybe I'm wrong but it seems like I didn't witness a single actual charged smash move? Throwing in a few of those will spice things up and if your opponent is used to only c smashes then a charging smash will throw them off and potentially lead to a really devastating early kill.

WOO LETS GET SOME ACTIVITY!

Thoughts/tips from the AMAZING MAN WE ALL KNOW, GARDEX!!!!
Rizen:
- Use up b more. Like, WAY MORE! Use it offensively, defensively and every other kind of "-fensively".
- Don't momentum cancel with bair, you're not using Link now B) Use nair, or uair if you're very lazy.
- Dthrow to dsmash only works on lighter characters; there's no reason to go for it against Wario unless you think he's gonna tech straight up (but it's wifi)
- Fsmash is the most beastly move on wifi, ever. You will slay many wifi-knights with it.
- Less rolling, more trolling
- Keep up the nair usage :)
- Wario is ugly
- Olimar is stupid
- I love you for doing a dashattack when the opponent was on the ledge
- Uair Olimar. Juggle juggle juggle. Dtilt moar as well
- Nair to footstool gimp on olimar made my pants tight
- Yellow G&W is so much cooler than black
- It's the 23rd of December and all I'm doing it watching wifi matches on Youtube.

@ Gardex:
Wow, good stuff! Those last 2 backgrounds made me dizzy:dizzy:. Way to go beating Falco on the second one even after he grab release gimped you (I'll have to watch out for that:scared:). I see what you mean about using Nair and UpB more; they're spammable. I should use more low SHs too.
What moves does G&W have that hits falco/fox out of their sideBs? I tried chef once and it worked pretty well. Sometimes certain moves work and others don't, like Zelda's Utilt stops phantasm but not her Usmash.

Thanks for the critiques :). I'll work on those things but it'll be a while before I remember to Nair>bucketbrake since all my other characters Bair:c.

I always use a character's traditional colors.

Falco's side b is weird. You can't stop the first part of it, but any move beats the final part of the attack(if timed right).
I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's because his hurtbox is in front of the hitbox, but he has invincibility frames at the start.

Which is why I suggest using a long-lasting hitbox or a multihit move. Bair, nair(if coming from below), dash attack, ftilt and fsmash come to mind.

You can also uair and up b the side b to send him into freefall.

I Fsmash in the opposite direction, it works well because the move clanks with the torches sourspot and they fly into the lingering hitbox.

So basically you avoid damage and punish
