While it does have a sequel, I feel that Path of Radiance has a stronger sense of closure and an overall superior story, making the ending just a tad bit better. It's also one of my favorite games ever, so that might be apart of it.

My first answer would be the True Ending from 999 but revealing that would be way too spoilery, so my next favorite ending from the game would be the Axe Ending: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkcP6xhEqks (skip to 6:45)

It was the very first ending I got so to say I was mind ****ed would be a massive understatement. Didn't see it coming at all and had to sleep with the lights on afterwards. xD The music at the end still haunts me to this day.

If only I could wipe my memory and play through 999 again... *sigh*

Both of those games had equally magnificent endings and were some of the first to come to my mind when I saw this thread. I want to shout out Metal Gear Solid 2 though. That ending is astounding.

I wasn't sure which segment would best fit as the "ending" of the game. I thought of getting the entire last level, but I think this works better. Game's Journey, my absolute favorite game of all time.

I liked the ending to Majora's Mask, not because it was a good ending, but because I finally beat the game.

I like all the Professor Layton endings. They can tug on my heartstrings pretty well.

Oh but, since we're talking about game endings anyway... This isn't my favorite, but the bad ending for Ted in I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream is extremely unsettling and depressing. So much so that it's actually pretty good.

Majoras mask has the strongest story out of any Zelda game. From start to finish I thought that game was beautiful.

I did really enjoy the ending, it was compelling. I was mostly just elated to have finished the game, that was one of the most difficult games I have ever played to be perfectly honest.

Yeah that game is pretty hard now that I think about it. I've beat it twice but I don't think it was 100%. There's a lot of stuff you miss if you don't explore properly. Jeez, seems like I'm going to have to break out my N64 again.

Whenever I look back at majoras mask and oot I always ask myself how the hell my young self beat that game
