I don't really use it, but I've seen it been used effectively, could anybody help me out by telling me so good uses for it, when to use it and all that jazz?

Its good when used as a taunt or when you're trying to show massive disrespect to your oppenent!

It could sometimes be good for racking up damage while your opponent is trying to recovery to get damage points on them. Most often though its just disrespectful. Its acutally almost always disrespectful...

Why is it disrespectful?
If you apply it correctly and do alot damage with it- what is wrong with it?

Which is why it's almost always disrespectful, it's sometimes good if you utilize it, like a falcon punch

Chain is bad because there are so many better things you could be doing. Yeah, you might be able to get ridiculous damage on some poor fool trying to recover, but they'll never die. Eventually they're going to make it back and you're going to have to put the thing away, which could get you punished. Maybe if it existed on a character that had no way of edgeguarding at all, it would be useful, but for a character with arguably the best edgeguarding in the game, it's just redundant.

I actually think it's usefull, especially against recovering Spacies. When placed right, you can rack up a **** ton of damage. Yes, in the end, edgeguarding with aerials would be the safest and most beneficial, but the whip is COATED with salt;)

Yeah if you toss the chain/whip offstage you can really rack up a ****load of damage on fox/falco/falcon/ganon. Their recoveries can't handle it most of the time.
