This move feels even more useless than Ike's Eruption, honestly. Does anyone know spme good ways to use this move?

Covering your landings / recovery, B Reversing in air to change momentum, and on the ledge versus bad recoveries.

it's pretty good for making your opponent afraid to recover high forcing a low recovery which Roy can punish due to how fast you can act out of it (frame 45) and if your opponent tries to roll on stage an up-tilt can usually catch it. it can also be used to hit people mid air since it has high KBG. also this is probably more for the Ike boards but Eruption is an amazing edgegaurding tool

It's one of the best B-reverses in the game. It's safe on shield, can gimp well, and has a longer reach than most of Roy's other moves, at the cost of startup.

Roy's flare blade is one of the best pressure and baiting tools, Roy can act nearly instantly out of it, it's useful when B reversed and can put some real pressure on cornered opponents, it works well on edges, and amazing edgeguard tool, and it's the ultimate shield break punish, assuming you can break their shield, that is.

I like using it at the ledge to cover most of the opponents get up options. The move has such little lag, that even if you don't hit them, you can cover their other options w/ F-tilt, Jab, etc. Also this move is a solid landing option due to its large hitbox and safety, though try to space it so that the opponent can't shield grab you after word.

If you do hit your opponent with this move uncharged, you can get 50 / 50 followups into Nair, Fair, Dash attack canceled grab, etc.
