Ok, got a hacking question for you all.

Is it possible to put data into Brawl? I was wondering as in order to make new characters, you'd probably have to put data into the game. Is this even possible?

Well, IDK what you mean by "data," but you can use codes and programs to import files:

-Pharrox's upcoming model injector will allow you to import models (character bodies)

-Phantom Wings's File Loader code allows you to use custom songs, sounds, textures, etc. from your SD

-Phantom Wings's PSA program allows you to make your own movesets

Etc.

I'm guessing he's trying to ask if we can put new characters in the game without having to replace them with another character. Like Lyn replaces Marth.

We can replace data. But thats about it. Your question was kind've awkward. Stick around the workshop to find out how things work.

Too make it easier, I mean like adding ion a character modle and .pac file to put in a character who ccould not be done before (e.g. Adding a model for Mewtwo into the game and moves and be usable in game). I was just curious if it was possible.

You're being too generic, which is why some of us are confused as to what we are asking..

Right now we are limited to replacing. WHY? Because the game has a whole lot of hardcoded arrays of data. For example, we could try to add another stage...but we would have to edit literally 10+ places of ASM probably.

Right now there are very few coders in the wii scene, and not much is going to get done when there arent coders. Phantom drifts in and out, Almas and Paprika are still around, I'm horrible at Wii-side hacking, Kyraal's expertise seems to in reverse engineering file formats.

We need more ASM pros :D
