If you think about it in the context of newcomers and not characters the Smash Ultimate is equal to Smash 4.
Almost half of those DLC characters were veterans and Corrin didn't come with a stage. Most of the returning stages were staright up ported from older games without much tweaking.

It's best not to assume any DLC beyond what we already know. You're only setting yourself up for disappointment if you put your hopes into a 2nd season.
To be fair, the whole glasses thing is not a thing that happens in Persona 5. It's just something to parallel Joker with schoolboy Joker.

For all intents and purposes Mewtwo was a newcomer for Smash 4. Sure, he was a veteran in the sense that he had things like a moveset pre-planned, but in terms of implementation he was a completely new character. This is in contrast to Roy and Lucas, who were based off of Marth and Ness while in development.

Okay maybe that point isn't very strong but then there's Nintendo's new president wanting to focus more on DLC which Smash would be the perfect candidate for such things.

On this topic, while Ultimate had relatively less newcomers than all of the games (excluding echoes), the returning long-thought-dead characters might as well be entirely new on the basis of having completely different ways to play the game with them.
. Plus if you didn't buy DLC for Smash 4, which apparently quite a few people I've met have, then that's inherently seven new characters to play as too.
The chances that it'd be humanoid are extremely high making that aspect pretty easy considering all Arsene mostly does is claw swipe and kick.
