In Dragon Age II, you meet a strong woman named Aveline who becomes one of Hawke's closest companions throughout the game. But no matter how many times you pick the romance dialogue, she will always ignore it and canonically go for an NPC named Donnic. And if you don't pursue a romance with any other character, Aveline becomes your platonic companion in what would otherwise be reserved for a romance scene. And your heart breaks the same way every. time.

Eh I'm confident enough in a second one. Nobody I've seen mentions a third one. At least...I hope not.

It would be dumb to ditch your 10m+ console seller game on a very popular platform after a year of support if you ask me. Smash 4 got that much attention and it was on its way out during development of DLC.

I don't expect a Season 3 nor do I even expect a Season 2 but I wouldn't say a Season 2 is out of the question entirely, A Season 3 is asking for way too much but a Season 2 while being unlikely it could happen.

A Season 2 would make sense as Ultimate is the best selling Smash game ever and so Nintendo may want to support it for a little while longer it wouldn't make sense for one of the worst selling Smash Games (Smash 4) to have more DLC Characters than the best selling one (Ultimate).

But I wouldn't expect a Season 2 either I could see it happening but don't get your hopes up.

Bruh, as far as DLC at this point...nobody should be EXPECTING more than ONE Fighter Pass.

Like, you’re asking for disappointment. We’re all fully aware of the fact that the Smash fanbase is insatiable. Sakurai, the guy the rabid fans yell at, is aware of that.

The devs, Sakurai included, very likely want to work on other things after awhile. This Fighter Pass is taking nearly a year to fully release, and people want three of them??? Think about the workload or logic behind that.

I also would challenge anyone to come up with an actual set of 15 marketable characters that would sell just as well as the first Fighter Pass. Most players move on after a given time, and I’d wager it’s before the 3.5 year mark. I simply just think it’s asking a lot for 10-15 new characters when the roster is bordering on 80 in the first place.

I mean, theoretically we could get something like a 3rd party pass (AKA Fighter Pass 1), a 1st party pass and an echo pass, which would cover all the slots found in WOL.

DLC can stretch a really long time if a fighting game does reasonable well. Street Fighter 5 is still getting more stuff despite releasing all the way back in February 2016.

Again, this is all theoretical, and I'm not putting much hope into another fighters pass either.

But if they do fill up all those slots, this is the way I see them doing it, since 1st party characters and echoes would be overall easier to acquire/develop than a unique 3rd party character.

I know about the other factors that poured doubt onto the rumor. But Atlus unveiling the release date of Persona 5: Royal was this rumor's final nail in the coffin.

I'd caution not to expect any more than that, TBH. As Scoliosis Jones said, it's taking a year just for five characters. Work for these things are evidently much more time consuming and difficult than we realize; I doubt Smash will be seeing 3-4 years of major post-launch support.

Okay but why would Smash 4 which is the worst selling Smash game have more DLC than Smash Ultimate which very well may be the best selling Smash Game? That just doesn't make any sense.

I can't see a Season 3 but in a way a Season 2 would make sense cause of it being the best selling Smash Game plus the Nintendo President wants to focus more on DLC and a plethora of other reasons.
