Greetings one and all!

We have all done it at some point right? We have dreamt up our matchups of our favorite characters in the hopes of seeing them in Smash Bros someday. For some of us, that has become a reality over the past four games. With Smash Switch on the horizon, let us get in the spirit by playing what I call...

Ultimate Showdown!!

Here is the point of this game, we will together craft our dream reveal trailers for our favorite, unrevealed characters and pit them against another member of the Smash roster, just like the trailers for Smash WiiU/3DS. Here are some ground rules first:

Rule #1: Just to make it fun, let's assume ALL characters from Smash Wii U/3DS are returning
Rule #2: Nothing too outlandish like Spongebob, Shrek, and other characters that will automatically be seen as ridiculous.
Rule #3: No spamming or flaming other people for their choices, those who do will be reported.
Rule #4: Have fun guys/gals! This is the place to dream about our ultimate matchups!

With the formalities out of the way, let the speculation games begin!!

Entry #1: The Swordsman and the Archer

A flaming smash logo fades from view as a vast forest stretches out before the viewer. The camera pans beneath the tree line to show Link wandering the forest floor. In the thickness of the wood, he finds an all too familiar clearing with the Master Sword in its pedestal. Pulling it from its stone, Link hears something rustle in the trees. Behind him, a shadow dashes passed among the tree tops. Drawing his bow and stringing an arrow, Link prepares to fire at the slightest noise. A moment of quiet passes until he hears the leaves stir, prompting him to fire his arrow into the branches above. The arrow whizzes just passed the face of a shadowed figure, whose large eyes catch the light as a low cooing noise could be heard. Suddenly, a storm of feather-shaped arrows rain down from the treetops, causing Link to take cover behind his shield as he retreats to the tree-line. A ghostly arrow fires from the trees in front of him, rooting Link in place as another volley of arrows surround him. Link's foe perches on top of the empty pedestal, turning to face him with a piercing gaze. The Arboreal Archer, Decidueye, has his name flash across the screen as he puts another arrow to his wing, as he challenges our green-clad hero to single combat, gameplay follows.

It starts off with Toon Link sailing on the King of Red Lions. He looks around, watching the waves, when he notices a large ship off in the distance. The camera zooms in, and it shows a scene of DK and Diddy fighting a bunch of Koopa Troopas and Goombas on the main deck. Bowser and Ganondorf are standing next to the ship's wheel, watching the brawl. Suddenly, the sound of a helicopter blade is heard and the camera pans upward to show Dixie Kong hovering above the ship. She drops down and assists DK and Diddy in throwing the enemies overboard. After the lackeys are defeated, Bowser and Ganondorf start to advance toward the Kongs, when the sound of thunderous footsteps are heard. They stop in their tracks, and the camera zooms in on the door to the captain's cabin. There is a brief pause before the door is blown wide open by some kind of explosive, smoke billowing from the source. The smoke starts to clear, and King K. Rool charges out and roars at the Kongs, blunderbuss in hand. Bowser and Ganondorf jump down by his side, and all of them strike a stance, forming a 3-v-3 standoff before gameplay is shown.

An Ultra-Smashing Match-Up!:

The trailer starts off with Bowser, Ganondorf, Donkey Kong and Dedede. They are in the middle of a heated battle on top of a mountain and all four are showing quite the feats of strength. Bowser picks up a giant boulder and smashes Ganondorf over the head with it, causing it to shatter. Donkey Kong then picks up both Dedede and Bowser and throws them into the ground with enough force to crater the summit. Ganondorf then picks up an even BIGGER rock from just outside the crater and throw it at the three fighters, only for Dedede to bat it away with his hammer and into Ganondorf’s face. Just as Ganondorf lands and charges, they feel the ground shaking beneath them. They look down the side and are shocked to see THE ENTIRE MOUNTAIN BEING LIFTED UP BY SOMETHING. The mountain is then thrown at high speeds into another mountain with a resounding crash. The four strong armed warriors climb out of the rubble as if they weren’t hit and look around angrily to find the perpetrator. That’s when Donkey Kong hears the sound of an insect. He looks around for a bit, confusing the other three before something lands in front of them. The camera pans up to reveal Buzzwole, a Creole-style remix of the Ultra Jungle theme playing in the background before the Swollen Ultra Beast flies towards the four and cuts to gameplay.
