As for the first two, I read Spidey needs OTG. Crystal is OTG but I think it's more of a "get away from me" move...so I don't know if that's a good one. Also, Jam Session is <3. This said, Spidey/Dante/ could be nice. As for the third, Deadpool has an otg Assist which seems nice, meaning I think Spidey/Dante/Deadpool could work. (Also Xfactor cancel on Trigger Happy going onto Dante's Shooting move is kinda cool :D) As for Zero though, I don't know. I read that he has no OTG other than his Hyper, so...

I guess I could do Spidey[Web Ball], Dante[Crystal], Zero[Rekko?] for the otg, but again, Crystal doesn't seem like the best idea.

Anyways, I feel like I'm learnin' D:
If you're going to have Dante and Deadpool in the same team, give Dante Jam Session and Deadpool Quick Work.
When Deadpool's on point, just stay back, jump and do QCF M or do QCF L or M on the ground while calling Dante's assist. They'll have a tough time getting in. If you want to spend the meter, you can do Deadpool's super whenever Trigger Happy hits.

When Dante's on point, call out Deadpool's assist and press down down Special to teleport behind them and attack. This will set up an unblockable since Deadpool will hit low and you'll hit high when you attack out of your teleport.

I still don't know why you refuse to use it. That's like not using Supers in Super Turbo or Custom Combos in games that have them.
Even if the game is fun without supers, it's still a core part of the game.

What about the Old characters? In fact, doesn't the best character in the game, O. Sagat, not have a super?

lol

im playing for the first time tmw, just studied up on their hyper guides and some combos, how do u guys think my team will play out?

hsien ko, x23, tron

HK for hyper armor, gong->switch to x23 for point
The key to using Hsien-Ko is to remember that she still take the same damage as other assists so you can't just call her constantly. It's also good to get some hits in with her to build meter so that you're not just raw tagging in with 0 meter or something stupid like that.

Alright, so would Spidey be a good on point char for the Dante/Deadpool thing or no? I want to use them two in a team, but I want a Spidey team also.

On another note, Ammy looks very fun to play lol.

Deadpool (Quick Work)/MODOK (Psionic Blaster; I do listen to the twelve year old once in a while)/Dormammu (Purification or Dark Hole, depending on my mood. I still haven't decided on whether I should use one or the other)

Team Troll? Or Team Camp?

Loving Dorm more and more as I play him. Getting to the point where I'm successfully reading people's techs and pressuring them (or punishing them) with distance-corresponding Dark Holes or stuffing certain assists with Purification which, if you can time it right, works brilliantly (
BLACKHEART!!111!!!!1!!!!
). Teleporting is something I'm having a hard time working into my game. I don't have a problem with the execution ("POWER OF THE POWER OF THE POWER OF THE DESTRUCTOR"); I feel like I'm just doing random 'ports that don't amount to squat except for the occasional lead-in to a BnB (that wasn't properly blocked). Maybe pressure strings and unblockable setups with assists? Any tips?

I was wondering what ya'll think about Dorm's fly/unfly game? I feel like Dorm's a little more solid on the ground, but I also feel like I'm missing out on a couple of tricks.

Deadpool is also freaking fun. Shoot shoot shoot, shoot shoot shoot, GRENADE! Lol. I prolly don't use as many of his tools as I should, but it's hilarious to keep people pinned down with projectiles plus assists. It's also nice to have him as an assist too (Quick Work=Dorm or Modok cross-up). 'porting's also an issue I have with Deadpool. I just seem to pop into trouble more often than not. Tips here, too?

MODOK...man, hate me all you want, but I love harassing people with this character. Lol. So much fun to spam **** and get away with it. I need to take a look at his BnB combos so I can rely more on just launchers, 'Cube spam and lazer spam to build meter. I also need to use Body Attack more, and get people off of me with something else other than kiting them with barrier.

Edit: Deadpool is usually on point, but sometimes I have Dorm out to start with.

You can keep Spidey on point. With Deadpool's low assist, Spidey will also have easy unblockables by attacking after his airdash.

^ That's good to know :D

As for the other teams, what's a good way to incorporate Zero? I really like playing him....

The third team really doesn't matter. I actually kinda wanna try Amy, but she looks rough.

Why add the ultra when you already have a super gauge?! I know the XF is the comeback mechanic, but the developers went too far with it. Give the players the option to turn it off and I bet the tourny scene is gonna change BIG time!

Every single match I have played online, every single one, the opponent has stood at the side of the map and spammed one attack.

If I had somewhere I could trade a game in near me I would go trade this one in today.

That's what happens in fighting games, dude. If a tactic keeps working against you, then your opponent isn't going to change it.

I feel like you also haven't realized yet that Mahvel is all bull****.

At least in Smash you can approach projectile spammers safely, or the reward for spamming is nowhere near as high as it is in this game. Magneto, Doom and Sent can just spam and easily beat you back if you manage to approach.

Things like this is going to dramatically decrease the lifespan of this game and reduce the fanbase to only previous MvC fans.

Zero/Ammy/--- is pretty good. Ammy's cold star assist really helps Zero stay in, if Ammy doesn't work then you should still look for someone that can lock down with their assist, Chun Li would probably work well. Zero should probably stay on point, I don't think any of his assists are that good without Sougenmu.

Well, that's what I think anyway, it works pretty well for me.

Learn how to rushdown properly. 90% of the player online who spam/play run-away don't even do it right. At higher levels of play (In MvC2 atleast) keeping someone out is 100x harder then staying in.

l
Dorms a beast.

If you have some type of projectile assist you can try to incorporate a ghetto left/right game with teleports but for the most part I only really use it randomly to try and catch people off guard or if they are trying to play run-away. As far as pressure strings go I really don't think he gots much. Maybe throwing out the carpet close can do something I'll try to experiment with it more.

Personally I've never tried to fool around with Dorms fly/unfly outside of run-away. Maybe he can incorporate it into his pressure game/combo's. Can he cancel his normals into it?

Don't trade it in for that...-_-

Just learn how to get inside with your characters. Utilize your advancing guard to get them into the corner. If you have projectiles or projectile assists, use them to help you get close.

One thing I do with Viewtiful Joe...if they're getting predictable with the projectile spamming or use of their assist, I'll use my Six Cannon as soon as I think they'll do their projectile. Gutsy, but works sometimes.

Also, think about getting someone who can teleport as well in your group. That works out well sometimes.

I finally played with another person again last night. I went 11-25, mostly winning against his BS teams, but I feel like I'm finally starting to get the hang of this game.

Aside from the basics that I need to work on (defending properly and learning/not dropping combos), I think I'm just not choosing teams properly. Right now I'm using Storm/Chun/Felicia, and they don't seem to work particularly well together or really assist each other well either. I really enjoy the playstyle that the female characters tend to have, but it seems pretty hard to build a team with them.

In wishful thinking, I wish they'd put Juri in MvC3 instead of Viper.

Lemme fix that for you bro:

I'm not immediately good at this new fighting game, so I'm gonna get rid of it.

Yet isn't zoning the best tactic in Brawl?

Really though, if a tactic is giving you trouble, find a way around it

Alright so, been trying out Spidey/Dead/Dante and I love it<3 This is working so much better, who'd thought the guide would be so good.

As for Zero/Ammy/???, I like that idea. I don't know what'd make a good third, but I can always figure that out later. (AKA plugin Akuma, X23, Hsienko, and Sentinel)

Ran into Morrigan/Sentinel campers 3 times.

Won all 3 matches easily.

You can always try super jumping over to them you know.
And I find dealing with projectiles in this game not too different from dealing with a laser happy Falco in Melee, tbh.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of X Factor (and Ultras) either, but what can you do? :ohwell:
I just utilize whatever the game allows me and take advantage of it.

Ran into Morrigan/Sentinel campers 3 times.

Won all 3 matches easily.
I've never really had issues with a campy Sentinel yet.
Then again, I don't even know if I faced what's considered a good campy Sentinel yet.

Is it just them doing spit into spit?

You know one thing I've thought about doing, but never seem to remember it? JUMPING over projectiles could work. At least in this game, you can block in the air.

I'm not saying I can't do 400k+ combos (I have more damaging combos than that one) just that its usually a LONG intensive string I have to pull off with really precise timing to do damage that most characters can do with a standard ABCS jBBCS :/

For SamuraiPanda :

M > H > c.H > Med. Upper > H > jump cancel > M > H > M. Red Hot Kick > Air dash forward > H> M. RHK > H. RHK> wait > S > M > H > jump cancel > M > H > jump cancel > M > H > M. RHK > M. RHK > Desperado or M. RHK

pulled it off srk V.Joe forum, don't know if it works on everybody, I'll have to try it out later.

...

I love how this combo does 500k, and then some guy comes around, posts a 430k combo and says its the most damaging right now. Are you blind.

Anywayz, I had some problems with Joe at first, but now that I understand where you wanna go with his combos and how to approach I feel like I can really enjoy playing him and at the same time I also feel like he won't be that bad of a character.
Looks to be a corner combo and/or a slow combo. And I know how to use SRK lol.

I don't know how I feel about Joe tbh. He's not as good at rushdown as he was in TvC because he is way too floaty in MvC3 and his jS isn't stupidly high priority like in TvC. But he's still the most fun char in the game for me when inventing combos :3

Zero/Ammy You need a Meter Builder. You got a Rushdown/meter user, A great Assist that keeps you're point in on there ***. Find either a builder or a massive chip person, Chris/Trish/Sent/Storm/Dorm.

Chris or Dorm would be more useful for rushdowns than Storm or Sentinel imo. Trish kind of goes both ways, her Peekaboo assist limits movement options and the Hopscotch assist isn't *too bad* for pressure. I haven't found her being all that useful though.

Wesker's Samurai Edge assist is good for picking characters up off the ground. He definitely works well for continuing combos with Zero.

This game is making me really like zoning. Sure, my zoning skills are far from perfect, but it suits the bait and punish aspect of my playstyle.

Does anyone have advice on how to play Tron? I don't want to just be spamming Bonne Strike.

Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn yoooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!

Only if they patch in some air unblockable moves.

Besides, I'll take what I can get.
It's not like Chicken blocking is new or something, it didn't stop people from zoning (this is camping to the smash players) in MvC2 and VS.

That's like saying that zoners aren't any good.

And I wasn't trying to imply that chickenblocking instantly wins you the match. But it's a relatively safe way of getting in on a zoner, especially if you don't have a lot of options in that regard.
