Hello everyone! I have been planning on making a completely non profit fan comic from scratch, in which YOU get to choose all the characters featured! There will be several different stories and strips featuring all the characters interacting. From playing games, to going on adventures to just having a good old fight.

I have been thinking about making a Kickstarter for it, but this project is still very much in development. I'm literally just in the 'character culling' stage as of now. And yes, there will be sequels. Lots and lots of sequels...

You may be wondering why I've posted this here. Well, you guys seem like a smart bunch (I am fairly new here), and Smash Bros is my absolute favourite crossover series, and the basis on what I base all other crossovers on.

And when I say you can choose anyone, I mean anyone. The only rule is that they have to be fictional. If you want to include a celebrity, then that's fine as long as they've appeared in some kind of fictional medium. The limit at the moment is about 15 or 16.

The character 'roster' so far is this:
Ryu (Street Fighter)
Batman (DC Comics)
Darth Vader (Star Wars)
Dalek Sec (Doctor Who)
UPDATE Deadpool (Marvel Comics) (Suggested by some guys from this other forum I'm on)

Actually, the only other rule is no original characters i.e. characters you created. Otherwise you just sound kinda douchey.

So wait
you are going to kickstarter
using copyrighted characters

i recommend against that
even if it is nonprofit
you are still making money via kickstarter

Just keep in mind what happened to a similarly nonprofit Metroid fanfilm funded through Kickstarter

just by saying there are similar projects does not make them applicable by copyright laws.

Making money off trademarked/copyrighted characters in any way shape or form will get you into trouble.
And MANY of these companies hire people to keep check over their brands.
And they will wait until you fund your kickstarter and take all the money away instead of being nice and stopping you before it happens.

self funding works better, in any case. and it always depends on brands. plus, there are also parody laws that apply. but kickstarter may not be a good idea.
