Today's update explained that Trophy stands are used to 'trophify' Subspace baddies. A possible relation to powering or no..? I doubt it, but--

Well it's slightly different than Pokemon considering you can't exactly buy/stockpile pokeballs in Brawl. So you pretty much need even more luck than in Pokemon. I would equate trophy collecting to trying to capture some legendaries in Pokemon. You'll need to be somewhat fortunate to catch em all

Couldn't resist sorry . . .

Edit: pfft. Above poster beat me to it

How is that a power-up? I think he means something like leveling up or increased fireballs from Mario.

Sakurai never said that their wasn't an inventory in SSE. There was/is a thread about the lvling method with a pic of Fox that looked like he had gauntlets on. Maybe if item equips are the secret lvling method, the maybe you would keep them in your inventory, and you can put the trophy bases in your inventory too. But Sakurai did mention luck..... Hmmmm

Anyways I don't think trophifying has to do with lvling.

Trophy stands turn Brawn into Pokemon, catching critters and all that.

I like it.

Not to be off-topic, but who else facepalmed at this update? Does Sakurai not realize that we all want another character update? Before November, there were like 3 character updates month. Now we keep getting gameplay modes or other trivialities like options. It's like Sakurai is playing with our emotions time and time again, night after night.

I can wait until it comes out to find out about all the characters. I don't feel like the game is spoiled if all I know about are game modes and things like that. I think we should be happy that he gives us updates at all. :)

powering reminds me of games when you earn experience and you invest it in like... strenght, speed, etc...

Ya the trophy stands definitely seem like pokemon and it'll make getting trophies a little harder and you'll need to put more effort into collecting them just another think to help enhance the single player experience.
