Tree stump?

Eyyyy villagers, 2 things I want to ask:

1) Anyone know any good combos when having the tree's stick (after cutting down the tree) ? I have some of on my own but want to see if anyone else has any.

2) On training mode, what item is closest to the tree stick? just because I would hate to re-plant the tree, and hoping to get the stick, where I can rather just spawn an item and get it in my hands or something similar to it
